Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok [Netflix]

The manga series 'Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok' is getting a TV anime adaptation.

Plot Summary

Quote:
High above the realm of man, the gods of the world have convened to decide on a single matter: the continued existence of mankind. Under the head of Zeus, the deities of Ancient Greece, Norse mythology, and Hinduism, among others, call assembly every one thousand years to decide the fate of humanity. Because of their unrelenting abuse toward each other and the planet, this time the gods vote unanimously in favor of ending the human race.

But before the mandate passes, Brunhild, one of the 13 demigod Valkyries, puts forth an alternate proposal: rather than anticlimactically annihilating mankind, why not give them a fighting chance and enact Ragnarök, a one-on-one showdown between man and god? Spurred on by the audacity of the challenge, the divine council quickly accepts, fully confident that this contest will display the utter might of the gods. To stand a chance against the mighty heavens, Brunhild will need to assemble history's greatest individuals, otherwise the death knell will surely be sounded for mankind.

is this really good?

I'm not sure if its this manga but I remember reading a comment or a chapter shown where even with popular heroic humans, gods ended up killing them. like the fights are intense and drawn great and the arc feel awesome but in the end, its mostly dead humans vs myth. Is this that story or that is another story, not sure.

I don't read that further but that struct me as unique because the humans usually struggle against all odds but eventually win, but that one is always loses one after the other.

That title is already taken.

See: God of Highschool (and it sounds like it flopped badly)

The manga's really good for what is it, one of my ongoing favs. Not sure how the anime will fare since it's very battle focused and I wasn't really impressed by any animation in the promo.

Sounds like this, but also sounds like they kinda went early with that comment considering the current state of things. (I haven't kept up with the 5th fight though, not sure if finished or still going.)

2nd and 4th fights seem to be the most popular from the impression I've gathered, wouldn't be surprised if they try to shove all 4 into one season. Hope they do it justice.

Just saying, but if the english dubbed version of the anime doesn't have Gaara's voice actor voicing Thor, than that version should be considered an instant failure.

It doesn't sound like it's going to have a riveting plot but I like the concept.

The problem is if Warner Bros Japan cares about it, then the anime can be harmed. The manga is not going to be affected, though.

I expect real controversy when Adam appears during the anime broadcast.

Why? If anything Christians should be happy to see Adam possible get his ass beat. I mean according to the bible he's the reason we're all in this mess.
