This is a little late, but here's a photo from a Sora no Manima ni event held 26 July. Front (l-r) Hayami Saori (Sayo), Maeno Tomoaki (Saku), Itou Kanae (Mihoshi), Tomatsu Haruka (Hime). Rear (l-r) CooRie (OP composer, ED composer/singer), Kotobuki Minako, Takagaki Ayahi, Toyosaki Aki (with Tomatsu, the last three are Sphere, and sing the OP).
In her blog yesterday, CooRie says that they just recorded Sayo's character songs, sung by Hayami Saori. She says that she and the staff were blown away with how good Hayamin was as a singer. She said that she had heard her recordings, but wasn't prepared for how good she actually was in person. "It was really exciting." CooRie wrote the songs, apparently. She also commented that they passed a very enjoyable time in the studio. Hayamin was cute and extremely polite. She was "like a model," and CooRie didn't want to stand next to her. Quite a contrast with the 2channel discussion of how plain Hayamin is.

The school festival episode was great, what with the Rose of Versailles references, the club president's cheery little jingle, and Edogawa's 'modelling' plus his sisters' reaction to it, pretty much cementing Edogawa firmly into the position of 'best comic sidekick of the year'.
And a lesser series would have given the shirt with 'nipple stars' to the largest breasted character, which made Edogawa's delight even funnier. |

Nice post. Speaking of that album, "Hoshi no Shizuku", another of CooRie's songs for the series, is going to be on that album, along with character songs for just about all of the main cast, Sayo included. And now I return to monitoring the Lantis site for information on it.

Great episode all around, though the best scene for me gotta be Edogawa "Jupitering" all the president's planet models which took 2 years to be made.
I'm still impressed in how much care they put each time we get to see a starry sky, being it for eal, in an actual planetarium, or even in a "home-made" planetarium. I'd listen to Kanae Itou's sweet voice whispering about stars and planets for hours and hours. Inevitably, Mihoshi and Saku are slowly coming to terms about their feelings, though at this point I'd prefer an open ending + a season 2. This show and these characters need to shine more and more.

Just saw episode 8 and Edogawa may have just won best sidekick of 2009.
I really liked Saku and Miho's conversation inside the planetarium near the middle. In my experience I don't tend to see well-written and heartfelt scenes in this genre too often. Also, Sayo's father reminds me of Ranma's dad for some damn reason.
