This seems like a given for every anime these day's but Muromi is also getting a manga bundled OVA.

RDIT: Checking the news page of the official site, there is a special screening of episodes 1 and 2 that you could buy tickets to that airs tomorrow. That's probably what the other sites are babbling about. Last edited by SquirrelLuvsPnut; 2013-03-23 at 21:46. |

Waitaminute.
I noticed something odd here. The pre-screening is episodes one and two, but it runs for half an hour. I also thought it was odd the show only had an OP single. I checked with Syoboi, and Muromi is a 15-minute show. Not full length, but not shorts either. There have been shows of this length that have succeeded - Tentai Senshi Sunred immediately comes to mind - and many American cartoons can tell stories in this time frame and make it work like a charm, like Adventure Time. They do say to tell a story for exactly as long as it needs to be told. |

Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
I was hoping for this one to be picked up. Bring on the comedy! |

Muromi 01 - Flipping Your Fins You Won't Get Too Far
Half-length or not, as long as a show entertains, I'm okay with it. And this is getting closer to the good stuff. Muromi and Takuro's two-man comedy show was great, with Muromi being out-and-out bonkers, and better for it. Being a masochist for jellyfish stings leading to an orgasm... I've never seen that concept played out with mermaids before. And I'm not sure I ever will again. Not to mention the references to Urashima Taro, the Bible, the dinosaur extinction and Poseidon, all in one episode. This must be one of those worlds where all mythology is true. And the opening... I love how dynamic the visuals got, how bright and colorful and crazy. Yukari Tamura's clearly having a lot of fun with her character here. I am so ready for more of this. |

Even though it was kind of played for comedic effect, I cringed when he pulled the hook out, and that spray of blood appeared.
Okay, finished watching it. Was laughing at all the fish jokes a lot more than I thought I would. The seagull attack was great. And I was floored at the last scene. Spoiler for favor:

I also thought it would be funnier but it's still quite fun to me and the preview of the next episode looks crazy.

Ir-re-sistible. Great craziness from Yukarin (see avatar and sig). Wonderful undersea dialect. And nicely played by Mizushima Takahiro as the put-upon but pushing back straight man.
I think I wish it was full length, but perhaps they packed all the good jokes they had into half the time. All this and great visuals, too. Good start.
