.mkv audio troubles

Some of my .mkv files play fine and others have audio troubles (speech). The background music is normal, but when the people are speaking, you can barely hear them. The ergo proxy and fullmetal alchemist movie .mkv files don't work for me, but the other .mkv files I have do.

I have uninstalled CCCP and reinstalled it. Ive used wmp, classic, and zoom. They all experience the same problem. I don't know what to do.

First: the discussion of anything but trouble with fansubs is not allowed on the AnimeSuki forum.
The two series you mention in your post are licensed, so I should really close this thread.

But I'll give you a hint nontheless: those files probably use 6-channel audio (AC3 probably)
and you only have stereo speakers. Or something like that. I'm not entirely sure where
you should look to fix this setting, but try "Control Panel" -> "Sound" and the "ffdshow
audio filter configuration" (which should be under CCCP in Start menu afaik) to check
if you can specify anywhere that you only have stereo speakers.
