Maybe because subforums are for series which are especially popular and have potential to produce many different kinds of threads.

I love how it sticks to the 4-koma type format. The voice work is also really good too.

Because we're almost half way done with the season and we only have eight pages of discussion.

This is the best anime from SHAFT so far. In fact, top in my list over bakemonogatari.
Bunch of weird characters! Gotta love them so much~~~~

what i meant is why it doesn't attract as many people talking about it since this type of anime usually gets a lot of attention.

here's a gif

Maybe because extravagant comedy isn't the common tendency in anime nowadays. Arakawa is neither a long-running shounen series nor a moe show, so we can't expect highest levels of popularity from it in this precise moment of time.

The less than 10 pages we are experiencing is a good proof. But let's not put the incredible quality of the series in doubt because of that.

Pretty good episode. We were really needing some focus on Billy and Jacqueline, since they had been rather underdeveloped, and now we've got their backgrounds.

I really like it how the story keeps on reinforcing how the people who are living under the bridge are people who have escaped society, because they want to be whoever/whatever they want to be.

ANIKI!! Billy is man among men indeed. Or a bird among birds? I don't know. Not only is manly and charismatic as hell, he's also a very smooth talker.

Yeah, his works were pretty damn awesome. I would have loved to see more of them, especially the one focused on Ric (it seemed like MADAO: the manga).

Arakawa isn't a 4-koma though.

I'm not sure myself if this show is unpopular. It seems like the type that doesn't require discussion, which is probably the reason for me being unsure. That being said...Anyone know how well the manga and anime does in Japan? Like, the DVD sales and manga volumes?

Anyway, man I love this show. I watched all of them last week when I was bored, surprised me how good it was.

It got a second season, so I can only assume it's fairly popular. In Japan, anyway. The fact that the subs come out days after the raws should let you know that it's not that popular in America.

Captain's animated manga featuring the Arakawa members was easily the best part of the episode for me. So many homages to 70s/80s sci-fi manga which made me so happy . Plus it shows that Shinbo should be directed sci-fi anime!

Did anyone take note of what happened in between the episode? Was that something related to the Captain, or was it really a preview for what Shaft is going to make in winter?

That'd be "Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica".

Wait....so is the new ending animation the REAL ending animation? Because if it is then that means we got SHAFTed and we didn't even know it.

It's not? I assumed it was since the "episodes" are so short and everything.

It's because the chapters are quite short.

Ah, that would make sense. Well, I like how they stick to that.
