A single 5 million ship fleet is supported by approximately 40 factory satellites. After acquiring the technology, I am not as surprised that NUNS came up with some impressive reverse-engineering on their own.

And you take into account that there are hundreds, if not thousands of colonial fleets spreading across the galaxy.

Both of these concepts had been around for a long time as well. Back in the day, they were known as FAST packs. Valkyries with auxiliary engines were found on early fighters such as the VF-4.

I'm surprised the Zentradi left any resources at all for us out there in our big, milky galaxy. And for the record, no, I cannot fathom how many ships that is. No matter how much I try to wrap my mind around it.

As for the FAST packs, I know the VF-25 was designed to be modular in order to take advantage of multiple roles (though we most commonly see it with the Super Pack standard), but the VF-27 and YF-29 actually incorporated the wing mounted auxiliary engines in the basic design (and god knows how much the VF-27's base specs surpass the VF-25's even with the Super Pack). I think that the wing mounted engines on the VF-4 were the main engines though. So I'm wondering if we'll see a whole bunch of variable fighters with four engines, base. (The YF-29 an VF-27 had what? SIX engines with their Super Packs?)

On topic: Did you hear about Macross Two-Nine? Or am I just hallucinating it?

All right, now that Kawamori's done with AKB0048, it's time for him to get down to business right with the old-time religion.

Based with my experience with RTS games (notably Homeworld), it's possible, by mining minerals from any captured asteroids and smelting them using full-on automation, before bringing the metals in bulk for further fabrication of hardware inside those mobile war factories.

Heck, for capital ships, it is also possible to shape and hollow out an asteroid and turn it into a working warship.

As the Zentraedi had been around for eons, it's not surprising that they're capable of producing stupendous quantities of war machines than any other life form, knowing that hostile danger is always out there in the vastness of space.

That would be the ship where the musical takes place.

My original quote was meant to be a joke of sorts

LOL, you know, whenever I thought of that, an image of a faucet turned-on gets in my head. Someone forgot to turn it off...

And then there is the fact that Zentradi own only half of the fleets...

But oddly enough I've heard people saying its the name of a new television series...and I know you shouldn't trust wikipedia but sure enough, it lists it as the next series. They don't have a citation though and I'm currently internet spelunking to find out just where this information came from.

If we know (from the musical's background), that Macross 29 isn't going through a particularly violent revolution or anything, then why would the next series be there? And why would they get a bakery-fresh shipment of VF-3Xs blueprints for them to fabricate from Shinsei Industries (that one lucky boy or girl will inevitably end up flying) when there isn't any major conflict going on?

Actually, it is undergoing a crisis.

According to the website, the economy for 29 is terrible. Unemployment is high, and a new Zentradi insurgency is taking place.

As for VF-3x being handed out... I thought that was something we randomly came up with. I don't see it in the official website. Though in regards to your question about blueprints, its actually common practice. Once a new fighter is developed, blue prints are then handed out either to all or selected colonies. For the NUNS... things travel fast... and if they can't get information by official means, Frontier already showed how designs can be acquired by covert operations...

Oh yes, we came up with the VF-3X idea. But then again, I'm assuming they're going to have new variable fighters in a new series. So once they get a blueprint and they start manufacturing, I'm under the assumption that they'd only start mass producing valkyries in preparation for something big. I feel that a Zentradi insurgency would be big, but not big enough to test fly what has been the long-standing weapon of choice for take-no-crap military superiority in the series. But I don't have enough information on how dangerous this insurgency is in the first place, in any case.

Any leads on whether or not its confirmed to be a tv series as well as the setting for the musical or not? I'm still searching.

Zentradi insurgency had been an ongoing problem for the NUNS. While humanity won the First Space War, there are still literally hundreds of thousands of Zentradi vessels out there from the First Space War not yet accounted for by the NUNS. An insurgency is always potentially dangerous because they can always attempt to make contact with the rogue element of the Zentradi fleet, which, despite a drastic decrease in numbers, is still more than capable of putting up a fight against all colonial fleets combined.

In Macross Plus, Zentradi insurgency was partially the reason why two new fighters were developed. In VFX and VFX2, the NUNS made no delay in sending their best to combat a possible Zentradi uprising with the objective of stamping out any potential expansion of the problem. Yes, the NUNS is that serious about Zentradi insurgencies.

They also, according the main Macross 30 website, had a huge power failure, and are running on 1/4 power.

Oh, and they're also a pacifist fleet. They have no VFs.

No, no...that would explain to the ACTUAL people of the 29 why there are no Valks...but how would you explain to the 2012 Tokyo Dome crowd that no Valk will be be appearing on stage? And do it in July, before they get their hopes up?
