For November 16-22 the DVD sales for vol 2 was 817 and Blu-ray was 1,412. Total sales for it overall is 65,636. These are the stats for week 3, personally I think it's going to be hard for it to break 70,000 but we never know.

Stats

Vol 3's first week dvd sales are 18,607 which are only 124 copies less than Vol 2's first week dvd sales, amazing retention rate if the Bluray is similar to vol 2's sales as well.

Still, being second only to Evangelion's 49,000 discs is not bad at all.

I'm curious to see if Tsubasa Cat 2 or Nadeko Snake come close to that due to webrips and extensive reanimation respectively.

what is the reason behind the delay?
is it because SHAFT is understaff??
or is it because they want to wait the remaining two episode on air first?

They are not understaffed.
Shinbo is known for failing royally at organizing production since "The SoulTaker".

This is sad day.

Yuma's excuse on Sendenman blog (why not the official blog?): "the decision was done because more time is needed in order to create even more completed version of Nadeko Snake". I don't mind the delay if they're going to put the omitted part at the beginning of Nadeko Snake back.

It's not like they can increase the staffs in one or two months.

Well if you watched Nadeko snake 1 and 2 you'd know that it didn't only suffer from lack of animation but also low quality(bad art and bad colors) animation. They probably need to redo 90% of Nadeko snake 1 and 2.

Volume 5 postponed to February 24,
Volume 6 postponed to March 24.

Not the net version. I guess

I am just happy that Monkey outsold Snail (week 1 at least). Didn't Monkey is supposed to have over 600 cuts or something?

I'm not surprised. The cuts on the last episode of Suruga Monkey alone were quite a hefty number.

Still I'm a bit sad - I feel like Tsubasa Cat will never be released on dvd because of how they love pushing back dates for the webcast episodes.

I think you are on to something here... Perhaps they initially just doing minor touch up for the disc release but the good sales probably gave them the incentive and the means to actually carry out the extensive redo. And hence the delay.

Nah, I think Shaft has overloaded themselves with work ;p

They've also pushed back the Natsu no Arashi 2 DVDs by about three weeks.

Well honestly IMO if Shaft released blu-rays/DVDs of Nadeko snake 1 and 2 with minor modifications it would be extremely disappointing since Nadeko snake's animation is really bad.

No......no animation company is indecent enough to release just MINOR touchups.
