Does the last episode runs about 45 minutes like the first one did?

The only real sad side to Kirei's conclusion is how Kiritsugu totally ignored him at the end. Its as if he's not even worth noticing anymore. For someone that Kirei obsessed over throughout the war to do that to him, it must have hurt his pride quite a bit.

I'd say that was probably the only downside for Kirei in this war, his dissapointment with how things went with Kiritsugu.

That scene hits really hard though seeing the expression on Kiritsugu's face.

It's the other way around: the broken Kiritsugu is not worth his time any more.

Didn't really expect much from the episode since it was fated to be more of a resolution than anything else, but it served its purpose well enough.

For one thing, the episode did try to fill in some of the gaps in the Saber vs. Berserker fight, though I doubt that that'll be enough to quell the flames. It was good enough for me at least since it laid out Lancelot's motives and such in the end, albeit somewhat sloppily.

Also, if I didn't state it enough last episode, I'll say it again. Kariya's end probably ranks as the loneliest, most pitiful death in the series. With that, I'm pretty sure Urobuchi wants to say something with this. At least, he got to see a happy dream as he got ripped apart by bugs. That counts as a happy ending, right?

I suppose the same goes for Aoi. I felt kind of guilty for laughing aloud when I realized just how similar her condition was to Kariya in the epilogue. Like Kariya, she's currently in the midst of a happy dream, so I guess she's happy too. It all makes sense when you remember that they're actually childhood friends with each other.

Having gone this far, I feel sorry for Kiritsugu because he sacrificed so many lives to reach a miracle, but his way of thinking was wrong to begin with. He justified his killing and atrocities with the promise of a miracle from the grail, but that's where his problem lay. In the first place, it was impossible for him to continue using such methods for long without an excuse to set his mind at rest. Now, having his justifications and illusions shattered before him, he simply broke down. Or he would have if he didn't find Shirou in the end.

Now, when all is said and done, the true winner of this war should be quite obvious.

Amazing last episode. I'm surprised that they managed to fit the Kariya portion in and was even more surprised at the addition of the Lancelot scene. It just did an all around, great job at tying up the majority of the loose ends and of playing the heartstrings.

I get that. I'm just looking at the scene where Kirei 'accepted' Kiritsugu's challenge, and it turned out that he didn't even want to fight anymore. Kiritsugu just wanted to find someone to save. I just thought that must have felt like a slap to the face to a 'rival'.

Agree . I'm glad Type Moon hired Jouji Nakata as his seiyuu, I can't imagine any other seiyuu voicing him.

That guy always puts so much emotion intoh is voice, its awesome. Though I had moments where I was thinking it was Alucard (another of his roles) from Hellsing talking, lol.

Basically, Alucard taking over Father Anderson's duties. That "AMEN" really got to me.
..not to mention all the throwing of the Black Keys.

In any case, I have a feeling they still cut a lot of things from the dialogue between and Lancelot and Arturia. Perhaps... you may never know? I mean, 4 animation directors for the previous episode... 0_0.

..but man, I was expecting some sort of message at the end... like "To be continued in... Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel." O_O!!!

Oh well, still, this show provided good entertainment, something that would be worthy of Gilgamesh. (Well, the BD release, that is...)

NOW UFOTABLE, ANNOUNCE A HEAVEN'S FEEL ANIME!!!

Great final episode. The only thing I am disappointed is ufotable decided not to use this BGM

You aren't the only one. When I hear him talk I think sometimes of Diethard from Code Geass or Araya Souren from Kara no Kyoukai .

I'm hoping for that route to get animated too.

I'm also hoping that the series (whether in Blu-ray or whatever) eventually come sout in a more affordable package with all the extra scenes/additions still intact. If not it is gona be some time before I have the build up of money to feel the need to purchase those pricey BD sets.

Not really, Kirei really loves people suffering. Also if he weren't worth Kirei wouldn't be speaking about Kiritsugu to Shirou.

OMG! Never thought Kiritsugu would order Saber to destroy the Grail.
The after effects were shocking.
So we finally get to the point where season 1 began.
Weaver got himself a nice temporary family, but guess he misses Rider the most.
Little Rin at the start of her later destiny..
Saber broken about her Lancelot T-T
Kiritsugu and Shiro... at least he got a quite life.
Pretty good final episode.

Doesn't DEEN possess the Fate/Stay Night license and thus the Heaven's Feel license, as well? Such an adaption would be...interesting, I'm sure.
