Sanzoku no Musume Ronia (TV) by Studio Ghibli [Anticipation]

One of my favorite anime Studio Ghibli is releasing a TV series finally! Sanzoku no Musume Ronia (TV)

Synopsis
The story is about a girl named Ronja who is the daughter of a chief of a tribe of bandits and lives in a huge castle in the forest with the bandits. The story follows Ronja as she encounters mystical creatures, makes friends with another young child like herself, and experiences life in the forest.

Very, very excited for this! I've always wondered how Studio Ghibli would do if they tried a television series on for size. Now we're going to find out

You guys know this was announced like 4 months ago, right?

Also - 100% CGI. That tempers my expectations.

Wow, another one? Arpeggio, I think you have started a trend here. Your popularity & success is to blame .

At this point, Ghibli should really improve on what Arpeggio & Sidonia have done with their Cel-shaded characters. Those two have done decent work considering the budget limitation they have to deal with, but clearly there's still room for improvement. Also, is it just a coincidence that a string of 100%-CGI series that we get are relatively good series? I mean, Arpeggio is real good, Sidonia is great so far, and this new outing from Ghibli should be a home-run .

It's not like everyone heard about it like we did, Enzo. I'm still looking forward to this as much as I did four months ago, but with the usual reservations about Goro being the director.

I was just a little surprised to see so much discussion now, when this was much talked about when it was announced.

Goro directing is the least of my worries - he proved with Kokuriko Zaka Kara that he's a very skilled director. The major issue of interest and concern here for me is seeing how Ghibli meshes with a 100% CGI series.

Seeing as this comes from Studio Ghibli is enough to catch my interest!

I'm still sad that Hayao Miyazaki retired.

No he didn't, that's just something self-amused people like to snark about like "Hiatus x Hiatus".

Stop jinxing it! Talk like that might make it so that he actually doesn't come back again! Some of us are just trying to be hopeful.
