Hm? The way the OP/ED sounds has nothing to do with the budget.

I assume it would if they went with a label that didn't charge as much in the contract. Sure, said artists' songs could be different, but the contract would be lower for some. Especially the ED, since that seems to be a new singer so her value wouldn't be as high.

Aniplex is producing the anime, aniplex is owned by sony so in general it's standard for aniplex to use artist from sony, regardless of budget.

Huh. That music is... shockingly upbeat compared to what I was expecting. Not a bad song by any means, but it doesn't seem very fitting.

I felt the same way about Madoka Magica's OP.

^But Madoka's OP was a way to fool the public into believing that the anime was all flowers. This doesn't seem to be the case with F/Z.

Hell, any half-decent anime song starts to sound good after you hear it a couple of times. And this, to me, sounded half-decent.

Well, since it's a two-cour series it'll most likely get a second op/ed later. They can still play the Kajiura card there.

Well, I believe that most people (myself included) generally do not listen to a half-decent song a couple of times, unless the person wants to force him/herself to like the song for whatever reason.

I believe I could give this song another chance if it wasn't for the Gas Helium voice.

Intentional or not, both have OPs completely unsuited to their atmosphere.

It's technically still a different situation, though. Madoka Magica was playing itself as a normal magical girl anime until things got dark. It's pretty common knowledge that Fate/Zero isn't going to be all light and happy bunnies, so the upbeat opening seems far more jarring since they aren't trying to hide anything.

Madoka's ED more than made up for the sugary/colourful OP though. And I agree, I'm underwhelmed by the songs they have chosen here.

Unless it's particularly irritating, I don't skip the OP in the first couple of episodes and give it a chance, if for nothing else, then the visuals. I've no reason to force myself to like any song, but if it turns out I was wrong in not initially liking it, it can only be a plus right? In any case, 10 seconds probably isn't enough time, we should wait for the full (TV) version.

I'm actually liked what I heard from the CM about the OP, n feel the rhythm indicating OP sequence will full of blast and its will makes the OP sounds even better.

I cry at the OP of Madoka now. We have to see how this OP fits. Plus we may get a second one too, so who knows.

An opening is an opening. You only really need to view it once; if that.. (although I'll probably watch it every time cause' it's the Fate Universe~)
Aaand I don't think it's that bad.. Pretty hard for an op to take away the epicness of a show. Just roll your eyes, skip 1:30min and continue on with the show

That said, omgicannotwaitforthistocomeout

By the way, with all this bashing of the OP going on... is there a full version of the TV size yet? Or is everyone basing 1:30 of an OP off of 8 seconds from a CV?
