Well, let's just say that it was a bit disappointing to only be able to vote for one character, because I had two that I was tossing up between. The first, and the one I finally voted for, was the leader of the poll, Sei. The second, and someone who suffered a lot from lack of screen-time, was Eriko. Why you may ask?
Sei: A lot of people have already mentioned why they like Sei's character, so I think I'd probably better write a little about my own motivations behind choosing her. To start off with, she is a character initially very different from the rest of the cast. She is: unconcerned about her public appearance, uncaring as to 'proper' decorum for being a Rose, irreverent, frequently hilarious but also has quite a dark past, which puts a lovely spin on her character, and makes it all the more complex.
Eriko: Another example of a person completely unsuitable to be a rose. She is touted as being the most attractive of the roses, and her personality (at least at a superficial glance) makes her the ideal candidate for the position, but in reality she is flighty, eccentric and unmindful about the feelings of others at times. She is quite self-centred, but genuinely cares about her friends. Her flash-back interactions with Sei were humourous, and it would have been nice to see some of that rivalry explored in greater depth in the show. ::Sigh:: Poor Eriko got shafted.
