Yeah, I was there in 2007. 18th and 19th are Business days, so unless you know someone in the industry it won't be that easy to get in. You probably want to go on 20th anyway. The first public day is usually the best day to go in terms of goodies and stuff anyway. Business days are for the press and trade partners, so they don't give out many freebies and stuff that they save for the fans and public. My advice is to grab two of those BIG bags they'll be giving out at different booths. They're big enough that you can probably put all your belongings (camera, bag, etc) in and still have room to store the free hand outs.

If you're wondering about admission just get there early before they open and join the queue. There'll be people going along the queue to sell tickets to those that didn't prebuy them.

Edit: There's an english site if you need more details: http://www.tokyoanime.jp/en

The song Space Rock by iLL is actually a song by the singer of Supercar (who broke up a few years ago) who did the song Storywriter that was featured in E7.

I love Kyodas taste in music, I have to say.

Bandai Visual has updated their product catalog! This has appeared:

http://product.bandaivisual.co.jp/we...m_no=BCXA-0174

http://product.bandaivisual.co.jp/we...m_no=BCXA-0173

The E7 movie is hitting Blu-ray in Japan on 26th June, a mere TWO MONTHS after the "theatrical" opening. LOL!

It's now listed as being 118 mins long, and the regular edition is priced at 8190yen while the LE is priced at 13440yen. The LE includes an extra disc with a Making of feature, as well as a "complete edition" booklet for the movie.

Edit:

http://product.bandaivisual.co.jp/we...m_no=BCBA-3475

The movie is also hitting DVD on the same date, for the MUCH lower price of 5040yen. I don't know what Bandai is thinking with this, but it's almost an insult. The price difference of 30 bucks between the DVD and the regular blu-ray is simply disgusting. That's all I have to say.

Two months?! this must have been down to a financial forecast in relation to the movie or something right?

FINALLY some good news!

http://journal.mycom.co.jp/news/2009/03/10/059/

It's an article covering the announcement of the DVD/blu-ray/UMD release, but they have five brand new screenshots from the movie! First shot of Nirvash in full action, and Anemone!

Enjoy!

The official site has opened today: http://www.eureka-prj.net

Lots of cool images and stuff in the backgrounds that can be ripped from the flash files!

There's also a trailer which they took off, but you can access it here:

I made 3 comparison images for the Nirvash launch sequence. It shows how the movie is handling framing from 4:3 to 16:9, and confirms that it's not just selective cropping that's being used.

Spoiler:

As you can see, in the first two pics, the sides are expanded even though there's already cropping in the top and the bottom. For the last pic, they chose to crop off just enough of the top and bottom without having to expand anything (probably because in this scene the background is moving too, and it would be a ton of work to expand each frame as it animates). It's also worth noting that aside from changing Nirvash's color, the cockpit view when it flies off the ramp is completely new, once again mixing up new animation with old animation to make it feel "different" I suppose.

I'm still not entirely sure how the movie will turn out honestly, and judging from the trailer, the animation isn't going to be particularly super amazing either. It seems Kyoda is much more focused on ensuring that the TV footage and the new footage matches up, and so there won't be a big difference in quality between them. Hopefully the story he wants to tell is good, because it looks like the budget on the movie is pretty low.

Hey guys, yea, I actually don't think that that old lady is Anemone. I actually think its a voderak woman, notice the jewel neclace on her head?

Also......wouldn't it be really weird if the long haired girl was Anemone.

I'm just trying to freak you out, but realize, they never showed the face, and Anemone does have long hair. lol

No, I'm sure it's Eureka.

She doesn't really have the same eye color has anenome. Or rather the same type of eyes. So i'm going to guess it's a Voderak woman too.

edit : wait , what old woman who we don't see the face of ?
