The stalker was her reason for leaving her original home in the first place. But because he's gone isn't a reason for her to move back.
If she's comfortable where she is and if there's nothing pulling her back, why not just stay? |

in reality, having a clean private beach that big in japan would probably cost at least 2000 million yen.
Only oil tycoons/ OS sellers/ Casino owners are able to buy such a thing .... o.O... and not use it often. Anyways, im looking forward to the wresting thing the class is going to do ami+idiot vs taiga+ryuuji |

Hey Vexx, this is my first time in the Ami character Discussion. Is it strictly based on the Anime, or just the lightnovels? or both? I just want to make sure that I follow the policy correctly, and dont do a "spoiler" mistake (i've read the policy). The reason is, remember last year we couldn't comment on a character unless its based on the development at a current episode, and those that read the mangas/lightnovels were restricted unless it was given the green light to comment on.

Most series haven't had this problem, but Toradora has been a somewhat unusual case. Quote:

Exactly, even though my own personal preference for a character goes to Ami, we know that's not where it's headed.
Though technically the novel series isn't over so who knows if there'll be something different, or if there'll be unique material for different mediums. |

Just to play devil's advocate, "everyone" can be looked at as a generalization based on how big this thread is in comparison with all the other character threads. Ami is obviously more popular in these forums, And then I personally think that if this were a harem story, Ami would win But its not, so we will see. |

... Ami is certainly the most *controversial* character (or one that generates a lot of energy) since her role seems to be catalytic. Counting everyone who posted in the thread or the thread post-count as "pro-Ami" would be misleading.
For myself, Ami is a key part of the story just as the other characters (male or female) are.

Now now, lets not lead this thread down that way, the same could be said for all the character threads.
Though Ami's character thread is certainly twice the volume... Anyways, I wonder where Ami's figuring herself in the future. Does she actually want to pursue a romantic relationship with Ryuuji, or does she already figure she'll just be on the sidelines, and continue on simply giving advice, as we see in 12? |

No actual clues or evidence, but given Ami's personality --- I'd speculate she's playing wait-and-watch. She's in a decent spot on the gameboard and given Taiga's volatility or her possible success with Kitamura, an opportunity may arise with Ryuuji. At the same time, she's also growing a bit of empathy.
One of the things I enjoy about the show is the layered and often contradictory feelings all the characters have to deal with.

Though I'll add my voice to how I enjoy that everyone in the anime has a second layer to them that needs work digging into. |

Well Ami is the girl who 'walks ahead of you, but not far away.' after all.
Her romance is not possessive, not mind-breaking, not world shattering, not smile bringing (she is not a sunshine girl)... It's the closeness that you helps you to stand up in need. Its a hand that pushes you when you need to take a step, but never clinging onto you. |

Ami's faked personality is still present, but I can safely say her real "spoiled princess" side has shown more bluntness and empathy than ever before, especially in Ep 11 and 12.
Instead of Kitamura being the mastermind of everything, it might be Ami who would twist everything to (her own) perfection.. Right now, she's observing the social landscape, thinking of an intricate plan...... before landing a checkmate |
