I mean if you see a Mei just stay at range and you can reliably deal with her given the right aim. Now, if you do get close nothing is more humiliating than being frozen and unable to do anything about your impending death. |

I don't see how people have so much trouble with Mei. She's only dangerous in close quarters. Unless you're dealing with a player with ungodly-good aim, dealing with her at mid range is easy. McCree, Soldier 76, and Pharah can deal with her quite easily from my experience.

^To expand on my previous point, I think people die to Mei a lot less than they actually think they do. (unless people keep running straight to her...which I have seen happen a tad too often)
It's less about Mei being stupidly OP and more like each death to her is humiliating AND memorable because you're forced to watch your impending doom. |

I played Mei like bonkers in the beta but she seems different since launch, like shes been soft nerfed. I think the time that people are frozen has some variables in the background, as there has been lots of times were people have broken out of being frozen almost immediately. Without me even managing to get a single icicle shot off.
I still play her a lot but not as much as in the beta.

Use your Ice Wall liberally to block incoming fire or force enemies into/away from specific chokepoints or lock them out altogether. Especially useful to block certain Ultimates like Pharah's, Soldier 76's, Reaper's, and McCree's. However, be careful not to mess up what your teammates are trying to do. Don't trap allies in groups of enemies, and don't block your own team when they're trying to push an objective. And don't block your own team's Ultimates, either. Cancel your wall by pressing the ability button again if you need to. It's also supremely useful on control point maps for preventing the enemy team from getting on point during the end of the game. Lastly, save your Cryo-Freeze for emergencies, such as when you get pulled by Roadhog, get flashbanged by McCree, or get targeted by Ultimates like Junkrat's or Reaper's. DO NOT freeze in an open area if that area is being locked down by a Widowmaker. You WILL die. I love Cryo-Freezing Meis when I play Widowmaker. They're like teleporting Reapers: A free kill.

Also her wall can be used for mobility purposes, and pushing the ability button again before deploying will change its orientation. So it can be used as a bridge or as a method of boosting yourself or team mates to higher ledges that usually would be inaccessible.
