Ubel is different, it actually has a solid story to build on, and does it fairly well. Is it perfect? Hell no, but thats part of its charm.

The main hero, Koinzell is far from being superpowered. And the reason for his body form makes more sense than anything out of berserk. He can only use his abilities under certain circumstances, it's not like he ruins around with them blazing all the time. If memory serves aswell it's also a seinen (or the korean equiz) not shounen.

It's not like berserk, it's better than beserk. For me atleast, better than gnatz and shamo, another two i got bored of very quickly. In a lot of ways it's better than Eden aswell, though i do like Eden. However there's a huge flaw in all of your comparisons, they japanese, Ubel is korean.

I don't try and compare manga to others, i prefer to enjoy each on their own merits. Sure i'll look for other manga buy the same mangaka, but i don't bother trying o compare them. Next thing you know you'll be comparing Elemental Gerade and Air Gear or something.

The characters in Berserk and Shamo are both far darker than in Ubel, which is some gimp wanna-be in terms of dark atmosphere. Gantz is somewhere in the middle, but like, yeah lol. Also, if you think stuff is mindless violence, then I don't know what to say. Specially Berserk. Like, the good and the bad are VERY BLACK AND WHITE. How is it MINDLESS? If you are talking technical detail, Shamo is far ahead of all these series including Ubel, and if you are gonna wave the Black Wing move around, go read Vagabond, that thing is the real deal as far as stuff like that is concerned.

Out of all these seinen fight bloody messy type mangas, only two of them don't try to really draw people in with flashy scenes or pretty people. One being Vagabond, other being Shamo. =/ It's ok to admit liking superior appeal in drawings, but when the stuff you are saying sucks is exactly what the mangaka is trying to get across, it's quite silly. It's just not your cup of tea like you said.

The only mature woman apparently definitely discarded. Koinzell left with the flat teen, leaving the loli and Altea behind, but Peepi decided to go after him anyway. She'll be accompanied by the big breasted teen knight and her friends. And the Guerranpen, who now has tentacles.

I'm not sure I approve of that downward trend in the average breast size of his harem. What the hell is wrong with you, Koinzell?

Koinzell fought that slave knight that scared whatshisface so, and owned him. But he had to use the Black Wings, and grew pretty frustrated with his weak body. Is an upgrade in his future? Koinzell also went warrior psychanalist on him. Not sure where it'll lead.

Peepi's apparently going to learn the summoner job. Her race makes her quite suitable for it.

Well, after seeing the weird title I got interested in it and now I have read up to chapter 42 in a few hours -.-

For some reason I like the character design in Übel Blatt (which is german and roughly translates to "bad leaf" btw, I dont really know how someone can choose such a title)

Its such a shame that the scanlations just stop when the nice looking knight girl finally found the main character :\

not sure but i think they need a new editor for ubel blat. i compare their translation to the chinese ver and in some case they are way off.

This reply is about two months old, but in what ways are they way off?

Just started reading the series and it's awesome so far, just wish they could translate faster than a chapter per week.

By the way, is Koinzell more Elf than Human? It looks like he lost all of his limbs and his eye as Asheritt when the 7 Heroes lynched him, and there was something about how when he losses enough concentration he reverts to his 'Fairy' form, with markings and whatnot; taking 10-20 years actually practicing staying in a more human one in order to interact with society.

Ah, shiet, I was looking at Manga Fox and they just came out with 44 translated and they had uploaded 43 a week before that.

Looks like a month and a half between the two releases on One Manga...

Why does it take so long for them to translate this one and no time whatsoever to translate manga like Naruto and Bleach?
