Sensei no Ojikan - Fansubs please!

Is anyone subbing this series?
The raws were released just a while ago, just wanted to
know if anyone was planning, or is, working on this series.

It seem very funny from the screens and information I have seen.
It's said to be azumanga daioh/bottle fairy -ish
[which makes me want to see it more!]

Please, I beg of you genereous fansubbers, pick this series up!

PS: Includes something to suit everyone!
- An Adult that look like a little 5 year old.
- Students with butcher knives
- Gay classmate
- Hillarious side-characters

Some blogs say:
From Momotato Daioh:
Azumanga Daioh killer? Nah, but it was still very funny and enjoyable(FYI: The manga of this came out before AD). The voice work was excellent as well. Standouts for me being Minami Omi as 27 year old tiny teacher Mika, and of course Tomoko Kawakami(man, she's busy this season) as part-time job loving Kobayashi. Yuuji Ueda's in here too. He's the yaoi student with the serious nose gusher in that screen cap up there.

Here are some screenshots from episode 1 [taken from various blogs]

Yeah, there is a group subbing it. It was quite an interesting episode. Though it may take a bit of time to get out a subtitled version because there's lots of text flying around and lots of jokes that may require explanation, etc.

I love school comedies (especially if done 'right'). The screenshots gave me a similar feel to Azumanga, although with a lot more guys in it.

I watched the raw for this. It's absolutely hilarious, despite me only understanding 33% of the Japanese. Poor little Mika-sensei.

This looks to be great.

So who's subbing it? If there isn't one, maybe some of us here could start a group Call it AFS or something (for "Animesuki Forums Subtitlers")... lol

Seichi is subtitling it. However, since there's a lot of nuances and lots of dialogue/onscreen text, it may take some time to get a nice sub out.

Hey, could a mod please move this to Fansubs? I wouldn't want to make a parallel discussion thread >_>

So, what other groups are doing it?

Nothing against Seichi, but I sincerely doubt there will be less than five groups going this series. I'm just hoping the other groups that plan on doing it speak up.

Angry

I've watched the raw 8 times already. If some group doesn't have this done by the end of the week I'm going to have to sub it myself. It won't be pretty, but I can't take this much longer

That's up for debate since there's a rather large onscreen density for an episode of this length. Many groups are just lazy to do a good job(the whole 'why should we spend the huge amounts of time that you think we should when we're doing this for free' arguement comes to mind).

But who knows. You could be right. Maybe 5 groups are working on it as we speak and plan on releasing it on the same day, since that's been the trend lately. I'd guess noone is going to say anything until they actually release somthing, mostly so people won't conjure up imaginary commitments and biases towards said groups. After all, that's not what this whole gig is about, now is it.

<ADV> I will neither confirm nor deny that any group that I know is working on sensei no ojikan.</ADV>

That good enough for an announcment?

I know one group that's planning on doing it, but the release schedual can be described as:

"We're slow, so we'll release it when we're good and ready!"
-They like the Rice-Box definition of 'soon'

You may have noticed that that phrase is the release schedule for many groups. I guess we'll just have to wait and see who does the series by their release announcements.

Let's just say, that there are a lot of cultural nuances (I didn't even know like half of them without a lot of googling) a let's say at least 50 signs to place and character bios in the first ep... but at least, we're hoping to have it out soon, tomorrow hopefully. But usually the first ep will take the longest. Afterwards it should be a bit faster...we're hoping.
