Those pics above actually lends a lot of credibility to those who thought that the whole cave cricket incident was Yuki's doing because she felt "lonely" at the time. I'm also guessing that the desert is her dimension and in a way, speaks pretty loudly about her lone wolf personality. I wonder though because the similarities are alike, that maybe Yuki is a lesser version of Haruhi that can control her powers (not to take any credit away from her powers as witnessed by her confrontation with Asakura Ryoko)

At this point it's probably safe to assume "episode 5" is Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu V, covering the last chapters of volume 1. "Episode 6" should be the Asahina Mikuru's Adventure Episode 00, which wasn't defined before. After that, "episodes 11 and 12" have to happen in either volume 4 or anything before The Day of Sagittarius. Unless Endless Eight (Vol. 5) becomes a two-parter, Shoushitsu becomes a possibility for those two episodes...

Unfortunately for anyone wanting Snow Mountain Syndrome, it's going to have to wait until Kyoto Animation decides to continue the series.

Speaking of which, in my opinion Shoushitsu should be left for another series as well; maybe make the new season of Haruhi be "Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu".

You people want to talk about Reality Marbles now? Assuming we follow Kinoko Nasu's technicalities here...

Spoiler for Reality Marbles, spoilers from volume 1, 4, et. al:

Episode notations here used are based on the airdate of the episode, not its chronological order.

I don't know if the explosion of data from three years ago involved some really giant closed space or not. If I consider it a Reality Marble, it is either rank A or EX. Probably EX since it screws over the world's current laws on things like time travel (hinted in ep 5).

Suzumiya Haruhi's closed spaces (volume 1 chapter 7, ep 14?) should be rank EX. Self-explanatory. If you don't understand, basically if Kyon did nothing the closed space would become the real world.

Nagato Yuki's should probably be rank B, since it's capable of wiping out other closed spaces (ep 10). Should be safe to assume it will have no problems eliminating closed spaces of rank less than B. Anything rank B will need some time to kill, and anything above will definitely kill Yuki instead.

Asakura Ryouko's should be rank B, since it can do lots of stuff plus screw over normal human beings (ep 10).

Closed spaces created due to people seeing Haruhi's SOS団 logo should be rank D, since the best they do is take over a person and keep them trapped (ep 7). However like Yuki said, if left unchecked this might grow (e.g., giant bug, will push to rank C), especially since the logo was worth 436 TB. Might go rank A on that note.

Closed spaces created due to Haruhi's frustration should be rank C (volume 1 chapter 6, ep 14?). If left unchecked this can go as bad as rank A, as Itsuki mentions the creature can go into real life and screw things up miserably.

Haruhi goes to Ryouko's apartment with Kyon... It's empty so they leave... Haruhi leaves via railroad tracks... Kyon meets Itsuki... Itsuki defeats blue giant... Something something... Closed Space in school with Haruhi?

I don't think one episode can cover it. At least 2, 5-6.

Oh ya. The fight scene was more than what I imagined as I read it. I hope the next Melancholy episode can be more. ^^

actually Asahina Mikuru no Bouken has a better chance at being ep 11/12 rather than 5/6 if you think about it. The student movie was filmed for the culture festival which if memory serves me right, happens in the fall. The yuutsu arc will end at around June-ish which leads directly into the boredom episode, which is chronologically right before school breaks for summer. That being said, I agree with Pakxenon 100% that there is no way in hell they can pack in the rest of the yuutsu arc into 1 episode without it being a complete mess. Given Kyoani's devotion to the novels, I believe that's the last thing they want to do. I do hope though, that they do not seperate the last 2 episodes of the Yuutsu arc.

EDIT: Remember that Asahina Mikuru no Bouken is un-numbered (or episode 00) according to Haruhi so it's possible that Kyoani could do 14 episodes + Asahina Mikuru no Bouken. But as I said before, I'd rather be watching ep 9 and 10 repeatedly than debate about episode order

Maybe you're right. In Someday in the Rain Haruhi and Mikuru did talk a bit about the DVD for the movie. Based on that then, episodes 5 and 6 are likely to be Yuutsu V and VI, ending volume 1 effectively. Endless Eight will likely be episode 12.

But if you think about it, inspecting Ryouko's apartment, the closed-space incident with Itsuki, followed by the closed-space incident with Haruhi could just as easily fill one episode. You've seen what KyoAni does if they want to compress an episode; lots of dialogue pressed in. They even forego the opening animation just for that sort of thing.
