Shiroth: BGM DVD where?

AKnightWhoSaysNi: I'm a massive Asuka fan, but I'm also one of the people who thinks that Mari has a lot of possibilities... Frankly at this point we have NO IDEA what's she's up to, or who she's aligned with.

Spoiler for Rebuild 2.0 Stuff:

I just watched it on cinema, since most things have already been talked about or not talked about to prevent spoilers, I'll just say that the Inazuma Kick is enough to make up for Asuka's loss of screen time.

It will probably end up as a dynamic kill in SRW.

EDIT: Oh and being the huge Asuka fan I am, I still love Mari for her outrageousness.

It's still on? Wow, Cathay sure gave it the runtime it deserved.

Was the theatre empty, though?

That and the multiple screenings through out the day. 1.0 did well enough for them do that despite having fewer daily screenings iirc.

Though wasn't 1.0 screened for nearly a month the last time? I hope 2.0 lasts that long for my nth trip there before they stop showing it.

As a HUGE Asuka fan (really, I basically forcedbegged my friend to cosplay Asuka for an upcoming Eva screening) I also liked Mari. I mean what not to like? lol

The pilots aren't locked to their EVA's, it just gives the greatest synch ratio. This was true back in the original series, too.

And the show's already got double-Inazuma kick (120 Will. So cheap!)

All I can say is that I do not regret the $10 I spent on the ticket. Shinji as a white knight in shining armour and Rei as his white princess/damsel in distress. Approved!

P.S. Sakamoto Maaya is really desperate to break out of her "nice girl" pigeonhole.

I remember back then 1.0 was aired under the Picturehouse label, which is normally reserved for those artsy foreign films that are film festival material. Biggest problem about it was that there were very few screens that were showing the stuff. Back then I was hearing things about having packed theatres for a week.

Guess it's successful enough back then for Cathay to pull the plug on 2.0 being on Picturehouse (I was tracking the Picturehouse website for months, they had it on 'Coming Soon' for 2 months or so) and putting it up on the smaller mainstream theatres (AMK and Cine), and now I hear about this sudden surge in ticket sales near the end. Sounds like 3.0 might be getting a full mainstream release the time it comes.

By the way, having the Eva 2.0 poster sharing the same space as the new Twilight movie over at Cine felt really awesome. Never expected that the day would come when Asuka would be right beside the year-end blockbuster trilogy franchise.

From what I hear, there's a sequel to New Moon in the works. As I've never read the books (the genre not being part of my staple and I'm probably in the wrong demographic group), I can only repeat what filtered through my eardrums and only fans of the franchise could confirm this tidbit, though.

Spoiler for Eva 02:

Seen the movie, it is nice eye candy. But they really rushed the story at dizzying pace.

I prepared myself for a rushed film, and i wasn't disappointed. I actually rather enjoyed the pacing of the film, and loved the amount of new material that was handled along side past material from the TV series.

That is true. We cannot assume the same sequence of events concerning Asuka's mother in the movie series.

That actually worked out pretty well, she's still psychologically dented, just less irreversibly so!

Spoiler for Asuka 2.0:

That's probably the only complaint I have with the movie. Are we to believe that... 6 months passed between Asuka's first appearance and the near-Impact at the end of the movie? ;P

By the way, any concrete release date for the Rebuild 2.0 DVD and Blu-Ray? This way I could set aside some money for them. I'm still hoping that Gainax will include English subs for the release, but it's hoping too much I guess.

It'll be a year or more till NA sees the DVD, but thanks to the magic of the internet, we just need the Jap release date! Won't be this year though Was kinda hoping for a Christmas release or something... I need to see this movie again. Many times.

Well, I live (mostly) in the Philippines, so waiting for a NA/Region 1 release doesn't really matter for me, though it would interest me more if the DVD would include English-language subs -- given the fact that I'm at the lowest level of Japanese Language proficiency, some of the dialogue (ESPECIALLY near the end) got waaaay too labyrinthine for me rather quickly.

I'll be happy enough though with the DVD or BluRay in hand though. Here's to hoping that it isn't as dark as Rebuild 1.0 (which we had to wait for 1.11 to fix).

Just to be clear, all you people watching the movie in the theaters are in Japan? I just want to be absolutely sure as I know there was a Hawaii release and was wondering if there was some sort of select showings in the US.

Waterloo, Canada got a showing a few weeks ago. I don't know if the US got any (besides Hawaii).
