Greatest voices in the world
Now I know there's a voice actor appreciation thread knocking around, this isn't about that, as I'd like to talk about great voices generally, among both VAs and actors. Obviously if you have a seiyuu you think is great you can add them in too. But it's not really the quality of the acting that's the thing, but the quality of the voice.
I've got 3 Voices I find I love. I like these guys the best because they are really deep, growly and sexy. The sort of manly voice that makes me go weak at the knees. They are: 1. Will Arnett, of Arrestted development. I mean this guy has probably one of the deepest voices out there. Just listen to him talk about club sauce. I don't know why, but when I hear this guys voice I just think "Man, I wish my voice was that deep!" 2. Alec Baldwin, most recently of 30 Rock fame. This guy is second only to Will in the deep voice department, particularly now as he's gotten older. Here he is in what was an otherwise bad movie. I'd just love to know how he does it. 3. Rounding out my favourite voices is Norio Wakamoto. As Seiyuu go he's probably got the deepest voice of em all, and he's great. Certainly these days he's known for playing outrageous villains, but I think his voice was best in his earlier stuff, like Gunbuster and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, however this clip from Sengoku Basara I think adequately shows off his growly abilities. And remember, we're talking here solely about voices. Doesn't matter what the person does, or whether they've acted in anything good 9if it is indeed an actor), just has to be a voice you admire. What are your favourite voices, and why do you love them so? Also, I'm sure you'll all also agree that ultra low deep growly voices are boss right? |

Ted Williams. 'Nuff said.
Bradon Keener as Garrus and Roger Craig Smith as Ezio Auditore da Firenze are also pretty badass |

2nd to both these guys, they have that voice that just wouldn't sound outta place for them no matter what role they play.
I took a gander on IMDB to get the old grey matter working and stumbled across a fan made list. Think I can agree to most of it, won't bother going into what I don't agree with. There is one female voice I do love and that is Claudia Black, she just sounds oh so lovely and sexy at the same time(helps that she's smoking hot in RL as well) Can't think of any anyone else right now so come back later if I recall any.

Have to mention the late Don LaFontaine, the legendary "movie trailer voice guy".

The guy is very influential in our every day lives and most of us will never hear of him (I didn't prior to this thread...) |

Inoue Kikuko- has one of the most soothing voices I've heard, which makes her perfect for the Yamato Nadeshiko characters she often plays. Just hearing her speak calms me down.
Noto Mamiko- Her soft, breathy voice is quite pleasing to the ear. |
