More details about The Witcher 3:

They want the game to be more about being a Witcher, as with Witcher 2, they didn't feel like the player spent much time doing what a Witcher actually does, but instead was caught up in things Witchers don't usually involve themselves in.

This means more monster hunts, etc, to "make the player feel like they're playing a Witcher". I can't help but feel that in conjunction with this becoming a "sandbox", that the tight story-driven gameplay of Witcher 1/2 is going to be lost for a story artificially stretched out due to padding of having you go hunt the local monster at each town you visit. Especially since they've outright confirmed the main storyline is your search for Yennefer, which is pretty much hand in hand as a plot device to have you visit one location after another, and solve each location's monster troubles. Their statements concerning how politics, etc, that Geralt had been involved in weren't what Witchers are all about, and that he'd involve himself far less in those types of things is also not particularly happy news as far as I'm concerned.

I know. I know. CDPR has a good track record with the last two games, but every time they release more info about The Witcher 3, they say things that have me concerned.

That was one of the things that TW2 lacked. Hopefully with the open-world nature of TW3, we might get Romance Cards back. That, or all 9,000 sexual encounters will be R18- *SHOT*

EXCITED FOR THIS! Witcher 3 is said to be bigger than skyrim right? I always wanted for Witcher to be open world. Can't wait to see it's new revamp combat. Witcher 3 along with MGSV, Final Fantasy XV and GTA V are making the next gen to be a blast for me.

I personally rather have a more compact but much more exciting and lively world.
Most skyrim towns feel very dead. Never mind some of the farms and villages.

Take the beginning of skyrim for example. I wouldn't mind if there is a much more... village-like experience there.

They must resist the urge to fall into the bigger is better trap!

Indeed, quality over quantity. The first Witcher is an example of that trap, it had more open areas to explore, but it suffered from a lot of pointless running around. However, with that said, if it wants to take after Skyrim with the open area, give it good mod support. Then the modders can pick up where the developers leave off.

From what i have known, the world in Witcher 3 will change depending on the choices you make but will still keep on living(of course). Plus, Skyrim didn't even have a good story or at least a decent combat. I'm confident that the Witcher 3 will have both of those that Skyrim doesn't.
