The first OAD is out. Yay for Kitsu Tane! Boo for the news that they put her in the anime so faast because sales are down and they think there will never be a 4th season...

Kitsu Tane was plenty of fun, about time she was animated.

Also, those Chiri foot shots. <3

Ummm~ The OAD was surprisingly disappointing. It was still funny, but it definitely was a lot less entertaining than usual. Kita-nee's special nature wasn't as great as the previously introduced characters either. Cute though, yes.
The OP wasn't different either. Mostly the same scenes and a few changes at the end...

My complaint with the episode was not Ki-tanee since she is a pretty cool addition, but the humor just felt totally flat and as formulaic as the series has ever gotten. Is this finally the end? Jeez. When the mangaka keeps poking fun at his own material in the anime, I don't think he's kidding.

Actually, I think the best bit of the OAD episode was when moe maid Maria puts out the Olympic torch, and everyone forgives her because she's so cute. Cut to mysterious woman in darkened room (with FREE TIBET sign on wall): "Well done Maria".
Just think back to all the protests that broke out surrounding the torch prior to the 2008 Olympics!

Mind you, the whole demo/demo wordplay was quite nifty, I thought.

Since episode 1 when she hanged onto him while he was being hanged. Nothing new here. Yes.

Why so surprised? It's not exactly news anymore.

Kafuka's nature is mostly implied to date. Meru senses evil in her eyes, we see her impersonating Nozomu's next-door neighbor, etc. And with the traumas she's mentioned in her past, it's assumed she's perky because it's a giant front. But we've never really see her try to kill him like we have the others. Fans merely like to imply she's completely insane because it's fun, I think. And makes a refreshing change from folks like Chiri or Mayo, who are openly psychotic.

Kitsu Tane is quite cute.

I'm alittle bit disappointed. It seems like SHAFT isn't trying as hard as it used to. It's not bad; but its not amazing. We'll have to see.

As I said before, they seem to not have taken their own advice from Season 1: Don't be so caught up with keeping it too faithful.

Season 1 has been retconned. Being faithful is what they do now. It worked for Bakemonogatari. I prefer this than studios trying to make changes for the hell of it. If they want to be creative, they can write their own plot in their own original stories, not mess with adaptations.

I have a (possibly) obvious question for everyone on here. You all claim to have seen ep. 13 of Zan SZS + its first OVA. But where can the fansubbed episodes for these be found? I've only seen ep. 1 - 12 listed, both on here, and on gg's own website. Or is it that all of you can understand Japanese and don't need subs? (I'd love to be fluent in it myself, but it doesn't look like that will happen any time soon!) If you know where (subbed) torrents for these 2 episodes can be found, please point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your help.

Season 13 has not been translated yet. GG did not continue to sub ZSZS. The 1st OVA was subbed by another group. Though I can't really tell you the webstie (I can't remember if that was allowed) but as they say; if all else fails: Google it.

Ho! Did sayonara suddenly become very political? The "free Tibet" sign in the OVA was short but DAMN sharp. Sure, the series always dealt with complicated social subjects but I'm quite sure that THIS episode never would have flown on TV. Go Maria!

But on the other hand, Sayonara always been a disturbed and angry beast underneath it all and I love it even more for it.
