Both can be correct. The Japanese spelling is "スクライア一族", where 族 can mean "tribe, clan, band, party, family". Since we don't actually see any of Yuuno's relatives, it's difficult to tell which applies best.

And now you've got me thinking of them as ferret Yakuza.

This is the best idea since the one about Signum coming back with a grafted chainsaw-form Laevatein and a boomstick, and once again I lament my tragic lack of art ability.

Hmm. Now that I think about it, has Yuuno ever mentioned anything about his family - and if yes, when?

Wouldn't the better choice these days be Nathan Drake?

Nah. Less iconic (I didn't even know who he was until some googling )

Q: Where is a barrier jacket stored?

Erm, Hammerspace?

I always got the implication that it was formed on transformation from the Mage's magic (and taking shape according the Mage's mind) rather than grabbed from somewhere.

Y'see, all this long I was under the misconception that BJ's are stored inside devices...and only recently I remembered that since Yuuno doesn't have one, they must be stored somewhere else. But if they're created by magic, shouldn't all those anti-magic from the various adaptations basically become Flans Exarmatio and strip mages naked (or at least, forcing them to concentrate all magic just to keep their undies materialized)?

It's a plothole either way. If barrier jackets are 'stored' instead of created, then we're stuck with having no explanation where Nanoha's barrier jacket came from. Or Hayate's.

I personally go with formed out of magic, and just handwave the AMF thing as them being 'solid' at that point and so immune to AMF.

I agreed more or less with this i remember reading somewhere that Barrie Jackets are composed by various layers of fields and barriers solidified, so yeah is essentially made from magic but i'll go for the fact that the mana linking is only used during the formation of the jacket and the final product counts pretty much as physical clothing. I overlap this with the theory of why Laevatein got serously damaged in contact with Cypha's flesh, magical devices apparently do have a real physical frame empowered by magic and thus being more vulnerable when in direct contact with an Eclipse Driver's body. The jackets/armors being "virtually" physical can also sustain their form under AMF conditions but their awesome defensive capabilities can be completely ignored by a Divider, being reduced to give the same level of protection as common clothing(probably even lower xDU).

I don't own the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha/A's Visual Fan Book, but according to the folks over at the Nanoha wiki, it states that Barrier Jackets are not actually clothes but rather spells, which create visible and tangible protective garments by linking mana. Moreover, it's apparently a Field-type defensive spell, as it is designed to neutralize and reduce most types of damage, including physical attacks. Makes sense, if you think about it.

It makes sense but the main doubt is why the Dividers don't leave mages strip naked xD

well it is established that magic can create matter, so that handwave makes enough sense.

Hmm, cutting magical matter and actual matter is not too different in practical terms.

That's something I have been asking myself, too. My guess is that since a Jacket is material enough to stay in place even when the mage is unconscious and their Device, destroyed, it won't be completely unraveled after getting hit by an anti-magic weapon just anywhere. Instead, I think that Dividers can cut through Jackets like knife through butter but it takes a massive bombardment attack to actually unravel most of it (like two Starlight Breakers during that mock fight in ViVid).
