The second episode confirms the aliens are not invaders but hunters on a safari. When MJP/Team Rabbits and GDF pull themselves together and become a threat to them there can be two reactions hubris making them not believe it or they take it seriously that they escalate to extermination.
Humans to them are just animals. On an interesting Team Rabbits are all test tube babies and they don't know it yet. The link they have with their mechs is reminiscent of Soukou no Strain's Reasoners and the organic processor, Mimic, which are their cloned brains. |

I've just finished episode 1, and I have no idea what to make of it. It seems terrible, the animation on the humans are loony, the plot has all the cliches, the characters are as stereotyped as the colors of their units, and all the big name voices are all playing to type.
But because it exactly ticks all the boxes, its an excellent mecha anime!! What do?! EDIT: You know, I was expecting a Galactic Defense Force, not something as small as Global. Where be the Mammoth Tanks? EDIT2: Finished episode 2. This feels like Super Sentai. XD

This week's episode was a little boring imo. Too much down time, and the jokes weren't as good as the previous two episodes. But now the story is getting interesting, and I really like the setting and characters. Next week should be very interesting, judging from the preview.

So not only are they genetically engineered but all prior memory before the academy was erased?
But not all their memory was deleted as Izuru has a vague familiarity with the girl who is behind MJP. Izuru was not always an Otaku as he was a blank slate waiting to write himself. Hence the hero-gasms. Kei likes to bake and eat cake. Whether it is a skill she had before or something she developed like Izuru we are not sure yet. Kei as she stated has identity issues due to the mindwipe but Izuru isn't bothered by. While Irie fails at getting a boyfriend Izuru can't read the mood and ruins his time alone with Kei with his waifu. |

The setting is turning out to be a bit darker than I expected. The kids have been genetically modified and their memories erased in order to turn them into perfect soldiers. Not sure it worked all that well. Pretty much all of them have, err, "issues". The most normal of the band seems to be Kei.
Doubt Tamaki is going to die next week. It's still too early for that.

All the kids have psychological issues to "fix" their identity lost. They developed obsession to gain meaning. That's why they are walking tropes. Izuru => Become a Hero Tamaki => boyfriend Suruga => weapons (and older womans). Asagi => Become The Best (most Badass). Kei is the only one aware that they are only tools and who haven't tried to fill her identity with something (except maybe the super sweet cakes baking, but she seems to be doing it out of boredom and might be just clinging to the little memory she still have). The MJP/GDF should dread the day she find her self-drive, she sounded resentful there As for next episode, it's evident that Izuru is going to go badass mode. It's the whole point of the instincts system, in the case of Izuru it make him x10 badass when it comes to save people...and everyone follow Izuru around because he have self-drive, while they don't. |

Well I just watched the episode, I was kind of hoping Pinkie would be gone, but oh well. Not much else worth mentioning aside from telling Violet and Blue apart from each other is still difficult, although not as hard as the past two episodes. I am glad this did not end up being some typical fan service episode.
