Man, Toshio might beat out Tatsumi for scariest character in this show. Sure he has a good reason to want revenge against the shiki but daaanngggg, the whole scene was creepy and awesome (and I am so glad that awesome-beard-guy hasn't died yet XD ).

Also, I remember someone posting an ad a few pages back about Shiki teaming up with a store in Tokyo and I could've sworn those were the clothes Natsuno was wearing today, I do wonder how he and Megumi keep getting such nice clothes in the middle of nowhere after they're dead.

I think Mr. Kirishiki is supposed to be the fourth one, which really caught me off guard since I didn't know jinrou had pulses and such. And I find it ironic that Natsuno is one of the least vampiric of the shiki, ie the one that could keep living without any problems, yet he's still determined to kill himself in the end. I'm sensing a tragic ending here...

Tatsumi confronting Natsuno straight away was pretty unexpected (along with the seating area and attire for the both of them ). At least now we have information on what exactly the jinrou's are in this story.

Ritsuko's scene was very , and it just adds even more pressure on Toru. That's going to be interesting to see develop.

The beauty of the second half of this weeks episode is that you just knew Toshio had something planned, and waiting for him to reveal said plan left me on the edge of my seat. Totally loved his smile when he shown the second bite mark (at this moment i'm thinking Natsuno did that, though it's impossible to say at the moment) and everything after that was completely out of control. If you want the villages to believe that Shiki's are invading your village, then that is without a doubt the best way to go about it. Especially having Megumi's Father being the first one to find out the truth during that situation. Seishirou had his shotgun was pretty fabulous. I'm glad he at least attempted to rescue Chizuru, instead of just leaving her.

Being the type of person that i am, i felt for Chizuru during this whole situation. The fact that we learnt about her past just moments before, how she just wanted to live as part of a family. I think it's pretty safe to say that she'll be killed during this scene, though that was still one hell of an evil cliffhanger.

I thought Chizuru said in ep 17 that Seishiro was a human who voluntarily stayed with them

So Tatsumi confronted Natsuno didn't see that coming, Natsuno's dad was freaky and funny, i like how he stabbed Tatsumi, explanation of jinrou was good, so there are 4, wonder who the 4th is,i don't see how they are a sub-species of shiki, it seems that they have more power than shiki, so Chizuru looked nice as always, like how she was called the child, Ritsuko and Tohru back togther hopefully it'll last this time, so Toshio finally convinces the villagers of the truth, felt bad for Chizuru though, hope she doesn't die, also i wonder what the second bite is from, i don't think its Natsuno because Tatsumi said that he wasn't taking in blood, but i don't know how he could've known that either

A rather late reply, but the core shiki group (the Kanemasas) seems to be quite small. I'd say that they probably wandered around and only killed a few people here and there, and most if not all of them would have been cremated - i.e. no possibility of rising up.

On that topic, about why Natsuno wasn't cremated - they've left out a few extra details about the jinrou that I can't see being revealed in the anime any more.

Spoiler for (from the manga) just in case:

(1) jinrou don't die, they merely change, into beings that kill humans (2) The change occurs really quickly, like, in a few hours (by the time the funeral people arrived on the morning of his "death", Natsuno had already woken up).

Seishirou is NOT a jinrou, or he'd have probably have been able to barge in by himself to save Chizuru. (Tatsumi said that they were stronger and faster than normal shiki and humans.) Btw, if you look at the current opening, you'll notice that the characters are divided into two groups that appear in succession: one for the humans (at the start of the 2nd half) and one for the shiki.

If you check the scene, it is obvious that Toshio was saved because someone bit him before Chizuru. And there is only one vampire who would do that.

And it doesn't really contradict what Tatsumi said: Natsuno probably drank only enough to hypnotize, not to seriously feed himself.

Forgot to say how incredibly impressed i am with Ritsuko. I've known that she's a strong willed character from past scenes, though her scene in this weeks episode totally stole it. She has to be one of my favorites in the story.

We're in the middle of chapter 30, with 5 and a half chapters (or perhaps 6 and a half, because a chapter that was cut previously might be merged with another) left to cover at present. I think there'll be two more chapters, though that'd mean the final chapter comes out about a week AFTER the last anime episode... I should be able to find out within a few days - Shiki is published in Jump Square, which comes out on the 4th of each month.

I felt very sorry for Mrs.K, and for Mr.K. being crossed up by the young driver. Loved the idea that Sunako was the parent and Mrs. K. the child.

Excellent work by Sasaki Nozomi as Ritsuko. She just gradually gets better and better (Nanami in Bokura ga Ita, Patricia Martin in Lucky Star, Sapphi in Jewelpet).

Just when you think he's a goner, he turns things around. He lured Mrs. K to the shrine, exposed her as a shiki and allowed the townspeople to stone her. Stoning won't kill her but it's gonna hurt. I sort of feel sorry for anyone having to be stoned but she had something coming to her. And Natsuno's not giving anything away even with Tatsumi trying to threaten him. Go Team Human!

Wow what an episode that was. I am glad that Toshio isn't out of the game yet since he is such an interesting person and without a doubt the best character of the show. I wasn't expecting him to trick Chizuru like that but man, his smile was the best thing of the episode for me.
Now I know why I love his character so much. He reminds me of Light in a way. The way he tricked her in this episode was so Light-ish that I wanted him to do a Light laugh at the end of it all. Not to mention, he is even making people root for the other side just like Light did. Maybe he is even more likable than Light was since we have seen him become this way because of despair unlike Light. The execution of this show being awesome just like Death Note's also helps.

I wonder how this series will progress now that there are only 4 episodes remaining. Will there be more despair or will Shiki be finally put down? Also it sucks that both this series and denyuden are going to end this month. Thursday was the best day of the week for me as both the best ongoing shows were airing, but I guess everything good thing needs to come to an end, which will be pretty sad as I can't see anything in the next fall lineup which can compare to these two shows together. I hope I am wrong though
