CM of DVD Volume 3 is broadcast.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDePC1zjEdE

Because I have never watched this scene, I think that it is a scene from episode 7.
In that case, I think episode 7 is "Red of apple, blue of sky" in light novel volume 7.
Money changer Weiss may appear again.

See, I didn't actually watch the commercial till I read this post, so for a moment there I didn't realize what you were talking about, lol! But yeah, Horo getting annoyed like that was pretty cute.

I have a question for you all (Who have bought the DVD(s))

Where did you buy it, and do they have English subs on them. I've never actually bought a DVD for a series and am curious. I REALLY want to see a season two and want to support it by buying the DVDs.

Thanks a lot.

That commercial was awesome btw!

I don't have the DVDs, but since they haven't been licensed for release in western countries (at least not that I know of), I think it's fair to assume that they don't have English subs.

Bodes well, DVD 3 should definitely match (and maybe surpass) these figures with the brand new episode.

aye, Region 2 DVDs from Japan almost *never* have english subs. An anime distributor in R1 (like ADV or Funimation, etc) licenses the series and then adds in the subtitling and/or english voice dubs.

Now.. if you want to order from Japan (via cdjapan.co.jp, for example), have a region-free player (or a way to circumvent the region code idiocy), and can understand Japanese... then you're set
However, expect to pay $30-$50 per DVD and only get two episodes per disk.

Japanese consumers live in a harsher environment than US consumers.. but then they get really high quality DVD and first grab at all the goodies.

Witchblade R1 DVDs had English subs I think, but they were an anomaly.

I don't think my imported Wolf and Spice DVDs have English subs, but I haven't actually taken them out of their shrinkwrap yet. Same with the OST and OP/ED singles. I don't know why. I'm paying $40 per 2-episode DVD and $20 in shipping and I don't even watch the darn things, lol. Oh well, at least I know I'm contributing to a second season.

Here's to hoping S&W never gets licensed in America. English dubs suck.

I'd like to get R1 for the DVD video/audio quality (japanese) .... the DVD technology for subtitles kind of sucks so I'll often turn them off if no one else is watching.
The subtitle *script* is usually pretty decent if uninspiring.

Dubs.... well, dubs have gotten better in the last year or two (I've been able to watch Kanon and Lucky*Star dubbed without bleeding to death) -- but they keep using the same 10 or 20 voice actors regardless of whether any of them actually fit the role or not. I can't think of a single english VA that has the skill to take on a proper Horo and I kind of cringe at what would probably result.... I'm still scarred from the horrible casting for Aoi in Ai Yori Aoshi even after several years. I loved Aoi yet in the english dub I wanted to strangle her in about two minutes.

To ramble the topic, I'm kind of disappointed we've not seen more Horo figures. I've only seen three and they were kind of average... well, one was just bad (the Horo'on'knees one).

Ah, Witchblade. I gotta admit, I didn't go into that expecting to have my soul crushed. Surprise!

No, the one by Kotobukiya is good, designed after the novels. The other two are pathetic, designed after the anime.

whee, my local Kinokuniya bookstore has a decent light novel section now and they had volume 8 --- so for now I'll glance at the pictures and continue my determined trudge way back in volume 3ish.

yeah, I'll concede the Kotobukiya one isn't bad --- I guess i just haven't seen a pose/outfit I've liked yet.

The cover illustration of volume 5 is Horo.
It will be released on July 25.
Only volume 6 remains.
Can't we permanently see the illustration of Lawrence who is the leading role?

Spoiler for illustration:

Today is a release day of DS game.
In the first press limited edition, there is CD containing two character songs which Ami Koshimizu sings.
It has a voice player of Horo, too.

Promotion video is here.

Cool, now I need to find someplace to buy it for less than the exorbitant $90+ Yes-Asia wants.

I just got an e-mail saying it won't be shipped until the 10th of July, and just a few days ago they said it would be delayed until the 3rd. *sigh* But hell, I've already waited five months so whats a few extra days right?
