Hello people. First post in months and this is where I end up.

@ Fusion: the last time I saw such a fusion was from Elemental Gelade/Gerad.

My only gripe is that VividBlue did not have a much more mature voice to reflect the body- listening to a child-like voice coming from such a body is

VividRed is probably the most powerful and dangerous of the fusion forms.

And then:

VividBlue = Goldion Hammer
VividYellow = [insert name for super robot fist]
VividGreen = CHESUTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
VividRed = ???

Also, brain overloading with ideas. BRAIN STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHP.

Vivid Red is AllTheirPowersCombined?
Precure always does it final episode. No reason why this can't, but it still might not just to be contrarian.

In case this seems wishy-washy, I'm reiterating my official prediction: VividRed is AllTheirPowersCombined. Just check the title graphic.

So many people blaming Aoi. This is sad. How about blaming people who are actually guilty?

That end of the episode, lol. I knew many a day when I was younger where I would wish MY SCHOOL would be a crater.

Episode 2 was great, especially near the end. Only complaint is that there was too much talking. Aka and Aoi were wasting time while soldiers were getting BLOWN UP. The awesome end of the episode made up for it though. Really fun transformation sequence. That Hammer is something else.

Second episode was quite entertaining

The fight was well done, and so were the transformations, except for those awful biker shorts under their skirts with their combat uniforms. Now that's really supremely retarded and is dampening the pleasure a good bit

At least the (unexpected) "Docking" fusion made up for that, being even better, and having her wear ordinary pantsu, as it should be, plus lovely overknee socks
The fusion girl somehow reminds me of Miku.

The bow girl (Rei) seems to be from their school, wearing the same school uniform. I wonder why she's helping the invading aliens... perhaps an alien herself, in the guise of a girl? Or possibly brainwashed?

A white lie sure, so as not to potentially hurt Akane's feelings, but a lie nonetheless. The fact that Aoi chose to initiate said friendship based on said deception made her believe that said friendship would crumble if it was ever exposed as such - afterall, relationships based on deception never last long. So it's a good thing then that Akane had seen through the lie a long time ago and still continued to be her friend because Aoi had put in the effort to maintain said friendship.

I wonder if Himawari and Wakaba will have similar symparate troubles for their first symmetrical docking into Gekiryujin
To add on to this, Aoi as a whole seems like a generally nice girl. Having spent two years lying practically nonstop to Akane would have made her feel very guilty, I'd think. To Aoi, who is generally a nice and honest girl, this is a betrayal of Akane's trust.

Thankfully Akane's power of yuri friendship overcomes.

Rewatched the SYMMETRICAL DOCKING again. I ended up humming the FINAL FUSION theme and the girl's version of Saikyou Yuusha Gundan. Also, the chest exhaust vents were lol - I think I've seen that before somewhere...

And interestingly, it seems that the forces defending Blue Island are some joint force - I see both US and Japanese hardware, and markings for something called UDF.

Well, it is the energy supply for the entire world (although how they would have made the transition in a mere five years is one of those suspension of disbelief things), so it makes sense that more than just Japan would be interested in protecting it.

Hmm...
This show is interesting.
But I find the names of attacks and weapons to be... unimaginative.

Someone else doesn't like tomatoes?! Hooray!

I was admittedly hesitant going into this show because I was under the impression that it was the spiritual successor of Strike Witches. Considering that I couldn't even make it through the first episode of that show for various reasons a part of me was worried that Vividred Operation would be more of the same. However, I have successfully made it past two episodes without being too offended so . . . hooray (again)!

That being said, the second episode was less enjoyable than the first in my opinion. Excluding certain shots I thought the first episode was quite promising. The beautiful animation did justice to the pure, saccharine mahou shoujo goodness. The characters (excepting Aoi) were pleasing to both my eyes and ears. The writing wasn't particularly stellar, but it was fresh enough not to come across as uncomfortably stale.

After finishing the first episode I eagerly waited for the second. However, now that I've watched it I have to admit that I cringed quite a bit as it played. I was prepared for the "kiss = power-up" situation because it's rather common (Simoun, Kiddy Grade, etc), but I had hoped that this show might incorporate it in a more interesting way. And no, exchanging the location of said kiss from lips to forehead doesn't count!

Also, the dialogue in the second episode left a lot to be desired. I will give kudos to A-1 Pictures for making my eyes happy. The palette for this show is so vibrant, so vivid, and the lines strong yet crisp that it truly is a joy to watch.

I'm going to give it a few more episodes to see what direction the story itself pursues, but I'm afraid that I ultimately might end up dropping it despite the lush animation. I like saccharine yuri-esque mahou shoujo shows as much as the next person, but I'm craving originality lately and this show hasn't delivered on that (so far). Although, at this point I'm intrigued by the purple girl (who needs names when you're defined by your palette color?) and her feather bow. Hopefully she'll make a true introduction in the third episode.

Episode 02

Well it's that time again, free avatar time

Quality sure takes a hit going into 100kb, makes me hearken to the days of 50kb avatars

Episode 02 was nice, I laughed reading the comments here about lives lost because of a tomato. The real culprit is.... Aoi's parents! Didn't your mommy ever tell you to eat your vegetables?

I honestly love tomato based food, be it spaghetti, pizza, etc. Life without tomato is... strange. What's even stranger, is that it wasn't the tomato that made them friends, it was Akane playing too much paperboy

I don't understand some of the criticism though. What's so bad about this series? Is it the magical science? The yuri? I don't wear yuri goggles, and this series is nothing close to yuri. Heck, let me explain. That whole thing about Aoi kissing Akane's forehead? Bah, it's obvious that.....Aoi-chan has a forehead fetish, and can't help but kiss some. guehehehe OH *mangatron is naked impacto'ed*

Now we get some vivid green butt next ep! Ponytail! She's 18 right? Tell me she's of legal age *runs*
Spoiler for Wormhole Aoi-chan:

I hear ya pal. The only pantsu I seen this season was from Senran Kagura. But that's a booby series, I'm here for the operational butts.

Tomato is fine, as long as it's in the pizza where it belongs. It's when it's out of it that it becomes a problem.

Whine whine whine. There's pantsu in the transformation scenes for you pervs, so deal with it. Some of the rest of us are glad the bike shorts are there. There are other series for you to get your pantsu fix in.

I'm enjoying the series so far and I'm laughing like an idiot while watching it. I don't know why, but everything down to the transformation scenes, to the name of the weapons and lore gets a chuckle out of me from this show.

Hmm ... well I liked ep 2 as well - seems this really is a bizarre cross between Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Strike Witches somehow ... it's strange, but I think I am enjoying it in kinda the same way I did C3: not the most profound series in the world, and fanservice I could do without, but kinda interesting nonetheless. Ah well. :\

Holy whackamolly. How this series really surprised me on the first episode.. The future setting REALLY SET ME OFF from where this was leading.. But watching episode 2 will probably help clear my brain from all the "Whaaaat" moments I had.
