i have seen so many weird, obscure things recently... i've been finding as many as possible and then adding them to the database, it's a personal goal

anyways, most have been really bad. one of the unknowns, as many of you have probably seen now, was Arion, but it has a torrent now so it is no longer unknown

anpan man - weirdest superhero anime

Brave of the Legend Dagarn - boring shonen, i dont konw how I watched it.

cinderella story - anime about cinderella, very frustrating... cinderella is always and nice and everyone is always mean to her but at the same time I hate cinderella.

Dash! Kappei -extremely funny 80's anime

dragon quest: dai's/abel adventure - I watched it but I'm never gonna re-watch.

eto rangers - one of favorites as a kid.

fairy princess minky momo

Hono-no Tokyuji Dotji Tanpei - dodgeball anime with fire?

iron leaguer- I like this one a lot even though it is shonen/sports with robots, dont' know why, don't really remember

keroko demetan - very frustrating, too bad I don't remember the end. (this boy frog gets beat up like every episode by the girl (who like each other) frog's father I think. I think it was because he was pooooor and the fact he doesn't like him around his daughter.

kimba the white lion - i saw maybe an ep maybe at the most, but I remember hating anime.

magical angel sweet mint - fun magical girl

maribel - cute magical girl

NG Knight Lamune & 40 - shonen/mecha but I liked it cause it was funny

Onengai Samia - very fun anime for kids

yadamon - don't remember if I even saw the last ep.

How come no one mentioned Dragonball?

More seriously, I was wondering about the rarer stuff I saw and which hasn't been mentioned here yet. ( For instance, I don't consider Jarinko-chie, or Atama Yama rare anymore, as they've been released in my country.)

Maybe Nekojiru-sô, the movie (half-lenghth)? Have anyone seen it?

(Then, I suppose it's useless to boast about stuff that were supposed to be rare by the time you saw them.

)

(edit : anime4ever, I don't think we have the same definition for "rare" stuff. Anpanman is a huge hit, just like Dragon quest...)

Don't think its even physically possible to obtain the originals anymore

Amazing series which I saw dubbed in cantonese but again near impossible to obtain the originals or even a episode past 9 or 10 which is when the good part starts.

SPT Layzner
A series supposedly ahead of its time but near impossible to obtain in any form.

Heavy Metal L-Gaim, which is my all time favourite series too. It just gets better and better, one of Tomino's finest works; he couldn't have done it without Mamoru Nagano though.

Nintama Rantarou: This is what introduced me to Japanese cartoons in the first place.

J-Decker: I saw this when it was on TV in Hong Kong. Good times.

Microman: Same as above.

Uninhabited Planet Survive- Which was fansubbed by we suck fansubbs but they removed it because the DVD's came out in Japan. It is a great anime and is my most favorite anime ever and if anyone can get a hold of it you should watch it.

Bah. That's not rare. Tens of thousands of people download it. I'll tell you something about rare.

The rarest anime I've ever seen was Gegege no Kitaro. I liked that a lot and I've always wished that there was more fansubbed. I saw 4 episodes fansubbed on VHS and that is all that was ever fansubbed.

Unfortunately VHS fansubs don't get distributed very well, so not many people have seen it. Even more unfortunately, Gegege no Kitaro was never released on DVD, so it is even hard to find original Japanese copies. Unless it gets a DVD release some day, I doubt it will get digisubbed as it deserves.

Hello! Lady Rin - when I tried to find out what this anime was called at first i thought it was candy candy because of the big blonde hair thing. her mom's sick, she's living with her mean/evil step brother sister aunt. who are all mean to her and i'm sujpposed to feel sorry for lady rin but I don't. it's frustrating.

I can't match the real obscura, but I've seen a few of the less-rare rare shows listed here... Sexy Commando, Venus Wars, Galaxy Express, Tank Police...

What's the one where the guys have the meter on their heads that shows how powerful they are? It sucked, but it seemed like the sort of thing nobody would have watched.

Armored Troopers Votom is probably the oldest...

And then the shows that aren't so much 'rare' as just so terribly mediocre that nobody remembers them....

I thought that Rizelmine was well-known for sucking. Hell, we watched it in my highschool anime club... over Witch Hunter Robin... that was a bad time.
