Prism is a Canadian rock band, and this song of theirs was chosen as the wakeup song for the Space Shuttle Discovery's crew members. Hell, if I heard a song this awesome, I'd wake right up too. And just because JRendell recently brought up this group and my old memories...

I just recently became more of a Pink Floyd fan. Really, it didn't increase much. I checked out The Wall, which is solid, but I didn't think was that great, and Wish You Were Here, which is a good album. I had owned DSotM for a while now, and never really appreciated it much, but now I'm listening to more Pink Floyd, and I do appreciate them more. DSotM is definitely my favorite album of theirs, but I will check out some more albums from them. I want to check out Animals and Meddle. I'm going to continue to give DSotM more play throughs in the near future. I do recognize it as one of the best albums ever made, and two things I love about that album is how ahead of its time it is (it really doesn't sound like something from 1973), and the production values on it are stellar, especially considering when it was made.

Been listening to a bunch of Dire Straits lately, and Alchemy is certainly the best of their live albums, with most definitely the best version of this excellent tune. (The beginning is cut out, but it's about the foundation of the town, and is linked below the video on Youtube, if'n you're interested.) |

To (hopefully) revive this thread, here's some of the music I've listened to in the last day or so (general warning, there may be cursing etc in these songs):
edit: after posting, I realized (while watching the richard thompson video (which I saw the tour mentioned in the video)) that I had seen several of these artists Live. I feel really old now  .

I am shocked and impressed at the vast knowledge of classic rock on this thread! Anime is my second biggest love on earth, Classic rock is my first, and I thought I was about to school you guys on some of the great lesser knowns, thinking I knew what I was gonna show you, and then repeatedly I'd find someone else had already posted it haha, I was glad to see Faces Stay with me, and Funkadelic to name a couple.
Still, here's a few that haven't made the thread yet. Though I'm not gonna assume you guys don't know these songs cause you obviously have a deeper knowledge of the music than I expected! This is my FAVORITE guitarist of all time Jon Maclaughlin, basically my musical idol, this was recorded in 1970 and I think he makes Jimmy Page and Jimmy Hendrix look like amateurs.

I've always had a soft spot for classic surf rock. I love the energy the Ramones give to their cover of The Trashmen's Surfin' Bird The Ventures in Japan, 1966. Check out the drumming! Endless "Bird is the word" Soul
