I don't know about you, but for me, I don't define that as "overly cute". My gut says her lack of social confidence is causing that, and I don't see that as moe, just something I relate to, because I am like that at times... I still remember when I was a bit of a love Syaoran.

You could say that that's why I like Nodoka too...

OK so maybe I'm not completely against moe in general, since some types of moe do endear to me, like the silent moe, inconfident moe; the lesser, not-in-your-face and more balanced types basically.

The kind that makes you feel warm and fuzzy (which is why these are called moe in the first place), but not enough to trigger facepalming. It must be just right.

What annoys me is the "Rein Zwei" over-bubbly cuteness moe type, or any other extreme type...... Leaves a bad taste. And that's what annoyed me of Vivio; it took her background, and her central role in almost all of my Belka theories that won me over. Trust me, once she grows up, she'd be a far cry from the moe blob you guys know. Same growth pattern for even my utterly random Sakura-tan; you'd be surprised how much people can change from when they were children.

I, however, am neutral to psycho moe; Vita neither endears or urks me.

And I'm annoyed by too much cuteness though. Too much moe is a turn off; I like my women strong and conserved (like Fate) or tsundere (like Sophia/Anita).

I changed mine in preparation of the 5th Ed of Kha's profile.

I agree too much moe gets excessive, but just a bit, mixed with more strong emotions or personalities, is like adding just the right pinch of spices to a dish.

Man, it took me a while to find this thread... I'm a bit short on time right now, so I'll post some of the characters I made in the last thread.

First up...

Info: Spada is the only child of Lucius and Marian Testarossa. Due to the fame of both his parents (Lucius was a TSAB "Ace", and Marian was a master fencer), Spada feels driven to prove himself. Due to this, he sees Chrono Harlaown as an older brother figure, since they are both the children of renowned parents.

Spada considers Erio Mondial his best friend, and used to tease him about his affection for Caro, until someone mentioned that Spada looked like Lucius when he did so.

Spada learned about fencing from Marian, and can thus hold out for nearly ten minutes in a match with Signum before she beats him (Marian can end a match in half that time). Despite only being proficient with a rapier, Spada trains regularly with his halberd-wielding father.

Spada loves video games, and plays them with Erio whenever they can. (Spada's love of gaming has given him incredibly precise magic control- Lucius, after seeing his young son sparking one day, modified Spada's favorite hand-held console so that it would only work if the boy fed a controlled stream of power into the device).

Magic Style: Mid-childan (melee emphasis) (his fighting style was the base for Fate's style)

Info: Lucius is the estranged younger brother of Precia Testarossa, making him the uncle of Alicia, and thus Fate as well. Where Precia was the brains of the two siblings, Lucius was more combat inclined, and quickly rose through the TSAB ranks. However, five years after the birth of Alicia, Lucius was in a vicious battle, and was pronounced dead after his body was unable to be found. In truth, Lucius was alive (with a slight case of amnesia), and living on Earth, in Italy. There he met Marian Lacrima, and the two were soon married, with Marian giving birth to their son Spada a year later.

Lucius was thrown back into TSAB affairs during the Book of Darkness incident. When Vita, attempting to gain Linker cores, tried to take Spada's, an irate Lucius fended her off, and followed her to Japan. Here is where he met Fate...

Abilities: Lucius has immense magical power and skill, and was regarded as an Ace back when he was still in service. His power is reflected in his magic's color- his electricity is blue-white, a trait that earned him the title of "The Blue Bolt".

Lucius wields the electric halberd Fulgardio with great skill, and his combat style is similar to that of his "niece" Fate (or rather, her fighting style is reflective of his). The style is reliant on quick, powerful attacks, sacrificing defense for speed.

Lucius is also incredibly resistant to electric attacks, a trait that irritates his son, Spada, to almost no end during their training sessions. The extent of this ability is generally known- Lucius can take Spada and Erio's attacks without any visible affect (he says that it tingles, but this is mostly to aggravate Spada), can take a considerable number of Fate's, and can easily handle his own formidable Photon Lancer.


Spells and Attacks:

Photon Lancer: Generally the same as Fate's, this is one of the trademark Testarossa spells. Lucius's version of the spell differs from that of his niece's, however, in a number of ways: Lucius has lightning-bolt shaped lancers as opposed to Fate's arrows, and Lucius executes the spell differently, using the aptly named "Lunatic" Shift, where the shots follow incredibly erratic paths- some even hitting Lucius himself (although he doesn't seem to mind).

Gigavolt Lancer: Lucius's most powerful spell. A single massive Photon Lancer appears in the sky while a multitude of normal-sized ones fire at the opponent. After the small ones are done, the large bolt is fired at the opponent. Upon contact with any surface- magical or not- a giant dome of electrical energy is formed. Lucius has only used the spell twice, however, since it harms him as well (he makes sure to cast it only when he's standing on the ground, as the drain is so intense that he dropped from the sky the first time he used it. It also took him nearly three months to regain his magic afterwards).

Bolt Smasher: The same as Fate's- a beam of lightning fired at the target

Arc Saber: Another Testarossa technique- Lucius will usually follow one up with a direct melee attack

Fate's constant shy-whispery way of speaking for one. And she had quite a few moe scenes in StrikerS. Take her 'eh? eh?' scene at the end of episode 26.

I have to admit, the fight against Jail made me like her a bit more. Mainly because it showed her getting outright pissed.

Her fight with Jail made me like her alot more. Though not significantly, and for different reasons.

Well, at least Fate got pissed before. Nanoha..didn't even flinch when shooting at Quattro for touching Vivio. This is going to make attempts at drawing her angry alot more difficult in the future.


And as for me..been playing waaaaay too much Cabal and MechMerc4 lately. I'll burn through the backlog of stories tomorrow night hopefully.

Trust me, that thought had crossed my mind earlier.

Though it isn't about the scary-o-meter involved but like I said it's harder to find other things that would piss her off rather than the indication of being pissed.
