I'll also go with Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, which give unfortunate reputations to anime fans for years now

I can't deny that some of the concepts presented in those other three are interesting but that's partly why I was disappointed, because they were presented in an unsatisfactory way. I'll revise/update the reasons I don't like those series' now: The main reason I don't like Sora no Otoshimono now is because of the characters. The main lead's a useless pervert and not any of the other characters are really that likeable to me. Aside from maybe Ikaros, but even then she's kind of boring. Plus the manga-ka seems to like ignoring his plot in favor of ecchi and harem antics quite often, which I can't say I approve of. Highschool of the Dead's concept is overused and tired. I see so many things related to zombies lately it's just ridiculous. While I'm still convinced the anime was crap I don't feel the same way about the manga. I just found it un-engaging and stopped reading after 10 chapters. Seikon no Qwaser has an atmosphere I like. Quite dark and gothic with a very biblical-inspired plotline and some gruesomeness. The main problem I have is the soma plot-device. I admit it's somewhat unique but I just don't like the concept of using breast milk as a way to gain power, and it's used incredibly often. It's a personal preference. I'm not too sure how fetishism fits into my dislike of these series' but whatever.

I think that if the OP really wanted to know what's an anime that really has no value whatsoever and deserves to be used as a freesbee he should have rather directed himself to general polls.
This thread became an hate venting space, I don't even know what's difference from the "anime that you hate that everyone else likes" thread. The vast majority of titles I see being mentioned are famous, meaning that there's a lot of people that likes them. Stating that they need to be used as freesbee is asking for trouble. I for myself I never liked Akira Toriyama and I never will, so I can understand why some people named DBZ here, but if I were to say that this anime series is complete shit, I'd feel a complete idiot, considering that Akira Toriyama is one of the most acclaimed mangaka in Japan. To go back in topic, for real, the worst anime are anime that, fortunately, almost noone knows. The easier way to see which are those titles is to look at polls, and now we have a very good reference to look at: http://myanimelist.net/topanime.php?type=&limit=4750 I'd say that the winner is Mars of destruction (unrated anime do not count) I haven't seen it (and I feel glad) but with a score of 2.7 on 2695 votes it really must be awful. Sure I suspect that there was some kind of reverse top 10 effect that made a lot of people curious to see why this anime was the last, so who knows, maybe there is worse out there, but sure I don't expect this to be anything close to be decent. I don't know maybe everyone should watch it just to realize what a a truly bad anime is.

There is only one that immediately comes to mind; then again, that's because I'm completed biased against it and even have a very special spot reserved for it in Anime Hell. That would be... Rosario to Vampire. And it's a very simple reason, and also why I have a huge bias against it: it took one of my top manga series, and completely destroyed all that made the manga awesome. Then again, the last few works GONZO did before it collapsed were rather crappy... Dragonauts being another one that was crap, but I got through it a bit easier.

On the other hand, the manga was probably much less ridiculous with drawing out the battle scenes for 20+ episodes....and the recycled plot. I wouldn't know. Because I've never read it and am not planning to. Quote:

It's a bit late for me to really type up something riveting, but to give a brief detail... I hate it when any show, be it animated or live action, takes something serious like military action or action in general, and turns it into some teeny-bopper story. I really disliked the the love triangle (if that's what you want to call it) between the main guy, the blue haired girl, and the submarine captain (you'll have to forgive me for already forgetting their names), but it was just so childish and unrealistic. The comedy was shoved down my throat ten fold and more often than not, the jokes were nothing remarkable or witty. The action was pretty basic, didn't offer anything new and the mecha designs were pretty awful. Keep in mind, mecha is my favorite genre... not just for anime, but for science fiction in general. Like that's my favorite genre, ever. But FMP was just so bad, to be honest.

I shall never forget the horror of watching the first few episodes of Boobanaut, sorry Dragonaut. That show was something terrible.
I mean, how could they allow a show with such ludicrous breast proportions to be shown on TV? It was positively grotesque. That's my nomination for worst show ever. Other shows being cited here are often just dull, or mediocre. Dragonaut actually makes you cringe as a viewer. |

Linebarrels of Iron
The character was completely a rip-off from Gundam seed even though it was done by the same character design. Quote:

Oh no, I'm not correlating the amount of exposure a work has gotten as inversely indicative of its value. Don't think I implied otherwise. It's precisely the reason I used Sturgeon's Law since it has the tendency to not spare anything. Hence I prefer heading into a series without any preconceived notions and simply judge it from there; sometimes I feel its earned its ranking, and sometimes not.
