I do like the characters. The plots are good...well, except for those seven (or was it five?) fighters brought back from the dead by Naraku and given shards to animate them. Well, most of the fighters were okay, but the poison guy...no, it was the giant and the mecha guy that pulled it too far for me to swallow (which is why i am slow to buy new books right now)

And you would think after 400+ chps Inuyasha's character would grow a bit. He is the same idiot form the chp 1.

Who else thinks...
...that if the Inuyasha manga were shorter it would be really amazing?
I've always thought that the story itself is great...if Rumiko Takahashi had focused on the original plot more, rather than stretching the Naraku chase on and on forever, repeating formulaic piece after piece... well... maybe she should've just stopped while she was ahead. especially the anime... I'm amazed that they actually made it to 167 episodes that said I still really like the amount that I've read so far (I'm only on the 20th volume) but I can't imagine it stretching on for another 400+ chapters.... what do you think? I guess I'm just lamenting how cool the story could have been (ps I'm a newb so please don't kill me over my first thread xD) |

I also think that this series was dragged on way too long. Not that I don't like Inuyasha and all, its just, after watching it for so long, you can predict whats going to happen. And thats no fun.Although, if she did shorten it, it wouldn't be as good I think. It'd have a lot of missing pieces, although, it would much more enjoyable to watch.

It's strange, sorry to take away the topic from Inuyasha and over to Rumiko Takahashi, because I felt the exact same way when I read Ranma ½.
I've read the first book so many times, and I constantly feel this fantastic plot, and then it's ruined but a kilometer long intermission with shampoo, some duck guy, Ryoga being P-chan etc... I wish Ranma ½ had been more of a serious anime.. I suppose you feel the same way about Inuyasha |

She does seem to be capable of coming up with fantastic plots, then destroying them by trying to extend them so much that they just fall apart... it's sad, really. I completely agree.. My question is... why does she want to make them so long? |

Why start a new thread that will get buried and no one will see after a week when you can post your idea in the place where people will see it?
