That was an interesting episode. I can't see any bitching about it considering that this episode does indeed contain "pieces" of the story.
Best part of the episode is the revelation of the first-year murder case. Who would have thought that it happened because of Takano testing the syndrome, and not by radical anti-dam villagers like a lot have thought happened in the first place. |

A correction, the dam incident didn't happen by Takano's doing. It was merely the dam manager going L5 and the others almost hitting that point.
But one could speculate if the yamainu had anything to do with inducing L5 into some residents of Hinamizawa. Takano only ordered them to look for anyone with L5 conditions. |

This episode is probably one of the best examples in this franchise that I can remember that managed to have lots of gruesome Higurashi moments, yet still push to plot forward with good pace.
There's so much good stuff in this series. It still astounds me how well they've managed to tie so many subplots together and keep it so cohesive and coherent. This episode again did a great job of combining horror and drama. And, I have to say, I prefer this method of revelation where they actually show stuff happening, to the one they used in the last arc, where they just had Rika reveal a whole heap of answers in a half-ep long speech. This has more impact, IMO.

Just when i think Takano cant get anymore crazy she proves me wrong. This was a great episode showing how everything came about and some of the events that took place during the dam war and the rift between the Houjos and Sonozaki's. Hanyuu's resolove seems to be deeping and the fact that we are completing the puzzle after we have waited so long just shows how wonderful and indepth Higurashi is. K1 really was/is the key to breaking this endless waltz. An outside force not connected to the village i can only wonder about the outcome and the end result of Takano and the everyone else invovled.
I really want to know what was bleep out but as i have read it is a spoiler so i will wait and see.
