New ‘When They Cry’! New ‘When They Cry’! Well, sort of.

There’s a Ryukishi07 work coming out called ‘Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni (When the Fireflies Burn)’. The prologue of it is going to come at the end of an Umineko book (which contains previously released Umineko tips and such) called ‘Umineko no Naku Koro ni ~The Last and First Gift~’ which comes out on Dec. 18.

In looking at the official site, it looks like Hotarubi is going to be a manga which is going to be published in Gekkan Action, with ‘Chapter 0′ being published in the issue which is going to be released on Christmas. The artist is Nokuto Koike.

It definitely has a "koro ni" in it, but it's not "naku koro ni", thus it's no When They Cry. It probably belongs to the Higanbana like-series.

Ooo, this looks really cool. I'm looking forward to this side series since I really loved Higanbana. I like how it seems to have older characters, too.

Yeah, it's fantastic so far, definitely way up there with Higurashi!
Afterwards I plan to read Higanbana as well. ^^

On a side note, does anyone have any news of that 07th Expansion Trianthology project they were working on? The site has remained the same for quite a while now.

Takano, huh? Could this be a link between Umineko and Higurashi? Maybe they'll go to further in depth about Frederica Bernkastel in Higurashi? Her character was always left quite vague and mysterious.

Manga of Umineko already gave the Umineko/Higurashi link away, so I doubt the VN will be about that.

Hanyuu, who is actually named Featherine Augustus Aurora, with Hanyuu being her innocent self who does not remember who she is, started a game with Lambdadelta. Featherine eventually gave up and she lost her memory and became Hanyuu. Featherine left the piece she created, Bernkastel, all alone until she herself took the position of a game master and took Lambdadelta head on, effectively winning the game.

I'm curious when the story takes place. Maybe during the 1960s or 1970s when she's still planning and preparing for how to prove true her grandfather's research, or the three years between Higurashi and Umineko, or maybe sometime after 1986. Glad I only have to wait a few days to find out.

So Kaga Create is shutting down, if you are still wishing for a PS4 ver of Higurashi Sui you are out of luck. Get a Vita or PS3 to play ether version before they go out of print!

I import alot of kaga create games, the Saki Nationals was best saki game so far. This leaves me worried about the future of who going to handle that series' games if anyone.

Huh. It says they're shutting down because today's game market is focused on smartphone games. Funny enough, I just found out about what I think is a Higurashi game for Android the other day. Seems to be called "Higurashi Chuu." Found out about it here, which has a link to a Japanese site. Google translate says it's about an app, at least.

Found some other pictures of it, too.
