Create Your Own Justsu or Naruto character

Yeah, maybe. But, that would be quite a bit of work, and not everyone will want to go through that just to join. Mostly, we should just go by the system where the voters just need to ignore the people who posted, and just vote for the best.

But, you've got me on this track now. What if the participants just PM their characters to Kyubi Jinchuuriki, and he lists them depending on the order in which he recieved them. That would add anonymity to the contest.

But, some may argue that it wouldn't let them show off their awesome character creation skills. Not me, but I'm just saying. Personally, it doesn't matter which way we do it. Just that someone tries to bring it back. Maybe we'll get a larger turnout than we used to. Although, there are much fewer people here, nowadays.

Basically, these were the winners from the seven character creation contests that Zaku held on the year of 2008. It's a bit late, but I feel better now that it's not just left unfinished. There's actually some closure now. So visit, vote, and enjoy the characters that were made by the veterans that used to come to this thread frequently. Maybe a few still do, I don't know for sure.

kk, im not normally one to implore much improvement but i wanna help u on this thread. Im gunna be blunt and say tht this is wut people would call a noob post ( i know this from personal experience, my first few posts were nooby too). It is this due to ur character is based on too much from the show/manga. Ur character can be around the main characters, it just cant be based directly from them, plus its breaking the squad rules of 3 gennin and 1 jounnin. The characters story is a little bland to say the least. The basic info is good but could use a clothing description.
In a nutshell wut i said basically was tht u should try to have ur characters very original. Im not trying to be a discouraging critic, id like to see u participate more in this thread (and maybe my contest), but im just trying to give u positive pointers to improve ur work, much like how mine has improved (and still is, im not perfect at this at all). Many have started like this (like me) and i hope this helped and encouraged you. Hope to see you here again to improve ur posting like the rest of us.


btw how is ur character blind for 6 months? Was it a one time thing or sumthin?

Yeah, Kyubi Jinchuuriki pretty much hit the nail on the head. Your character really just needs more fleshing out, and a little less stepping on the toes of canon. He's also right about the noob post. Although, mine was a little weird. My first was pretty good, but the next two sucked. But, yeah.

I would also like to hear more about the six months of blindness. From just that line, it seems as if that could be an interesting addition that would individualize your character, but only if done right.

Oh, and Kyubi. Speaking of the character contest: my character is almost finished. I've just been too lazy to write her bio. I'll get around to it. . . eventually.

Kougino, Sou

Sou Kougino is known as a reclusive fallen monk as well as a killer for hire.
As a young boy, he had lost his father to illness. Because of his father's death, he was extremely protective of his mother. When he was first enrolled in the Kumogakure Ninja Academy, It took his mother an hour to convince him to leave her side. As more time went by, he began to become less dependant, but no less protective of her.
When Sou was 10, he had returned home one day to find his mother dead. Completely lost and confused, Sou laid next to her for five days before anyone ever noticed them. The doctors examined his mother and explained to him that she had passed from heart failure. Sou never heard them, his mind was completely lost. With no other family, Sou was turned over to the village's Buddhist temple, which provided shelter for orphans.

It took three years before the monks were ever able to get Sou to talk, interact, or even leave his room. He sat in a daze in his pitch-black room the whole time, never speaking or paying attention to anybody. There were many times when the monks would bring a candle with his meals, returning to find the candle extinguished and soaking in a glass of water.
After those three years, Sou finally emerged from his room, only to find that he could no longer withstand being out in the sunlight. The years in darkness had made his eyes weak to light, while also enhancing his hearing to a great extent. While being out in the daylight, he would often wear a headband around his eyes and guide himself by sound.
Despite what the monks had expected, Sou had emerged as a very gentle and kind person, taking to their lessons and teaching with fascination and excitement. When he was out among the public, Sou was somewhat awkward socially, but no less kind and generous.
Years later, Sou had returned from shopping to find ninjas all throughout the temple. One of them told him that some people were discovere to be spies from another ninja village. In their desperation, the spies had hidden in the temple, taking the monks hostage. Sou panicked and ran into the temple. The spies saw him, and thinking he was one of the ANBU, killed the high priest. At that instant, the ninja outside had cut the electricity to the temple, and the lights in the room went out.
When the ninja went in to clear the temple, they turned the lights back on, and found the spies dead, torn to pieces, and an unconscious Sou with clothes soaked in blood, and two large cuts on his face.
When Sou recovered, he was cast away the temple. The other priests saw him as a demon, and wanted him as far away from the temple as possible. Sou was furious that the people who took him in so many years ago would so quickly cast him aside.
The next morning, Sou left the temple and began his life as a wanderer. It wasn't until a few days later that anyone noticed that the temple was full of corpses.

It has been two years since then, and Sou is now a professional killer. He takes offers to kill just about anyone, save for mothers and their children.
Combat

Sou is a skilled fighter by day, and an excellent one by night. The years of darkness expanded the pupils of his eyes to take up almost 80% of the eye's visible surface area, giving him almost completely jet black eyes. These eyes take in light at a much higher intensity than normal, making starlight bright enough to seem like a well-lit room. This coupled with his heightened hearing puts him at an incredible advantage during the night. He often conceals himself during the day, preferring to fight exclusively in the darkness.

Sou wasn't in the ninja academy long enough to learn complex jutsu, nor any elemental ones. He relies almost exclusively on his own brand of improvised taijutsu. He also wields a monk's staff, which conceals a hidden blade. His fighting style relies on speed and stealth. Quick surprise attacks are his specialty.

Samsara - A technique in which Sou spins his blade multiple times in the time frame of a second. If he cuts down his enemy, he sheathes the blade, and sounds the ring chimes on his staff.

Nidana - A technique Sou uses to kill an enemy in a more painful manner. Sou cuts the enemy 12 times, severing vital tendons and ligaments, rendering the enemy incapable of moving, much less escaping. How the technique ends depends on Sou's mood, but never merciful.

Sunyata - The most common method used to end Nidana. Sou cuts a circle into the victim's chest, and tears out their heart.

San-youshiki - This is Sou preferred technique for assassination. It follows three stages...
Anicca - Inflicting a non-lethal injury on the target, often stabbing through the shoulder or leg.
Dukkha - Pursuit. Sou gives the target a moment to escape. While they are doing so, he tends to any others that are around. If the enemy doesn't flee, he inflicts more injuries similar to Anicca, or uses Nidana if the victim is getting out of control.
Anatta - Disembowelment. The arms and legs are cut away.

The victim then moves on to Nirvana, which is decapitation.

Man, I have a problem with making evil characters. It seems that all of my evil characters are gruesome killers. Might as well stick with what I know...

In answer to how to make good bad guys, just remember: very few people in the world are intrinsically evil. Like my (VERY OLD) character Garuga, village pressure got to him and he flipped. Maybe you could try making a character like Juggernaut from the X-men, so much devastating power and potential, but small-time dreams and lack of ambition.

I never was too good at character development as a whole. Truth be told, I usually draw my characters first and create their backstory/personality based on what I get from the picture.
I do need to improve on my villains, though. One of these days I need to try making someone truly evil who isn't some deranged serial killer...

Moeri is the human incarnation of the phoenix. There are numerous cases when a demon or other such creature will hide and regain strength by attaching themselves to an unborn child. Their souls being attached to the mortal shell allows the creature to lead an anonymous life until they see fit to shed the facade.
Moeri was a rare exception. The soul of the phoenix, unable to pass on to the afterlife attached itself to a child just moments before its birth. The child's soul came to be at the same time as the phoenix's posession, and as a result, the two souls were fused into one. The phoenix lost all memory of itself, but latent powers remained.
Growing up in the leaf village was as normal as could be expected. Moeri had gone through the ninja academy, and had begun working as a genin to help support her family. While not remarkable or noteworthy, she was always known for being very capable and able to adapt to nearly any situation. There was even word of her being ready to become a chuunin.
However, all thought of that went away when the village was attacked by the Kyuubi. Her parents, being ninja themselves joined the fourth hokage in battle against the beast. She was just returning from a mission to see the battle end. The beast and the hokage were gone, only a clearing of shattered trees and corpses remained. With her teammates already at the village further ahead, Moeri found her parents. Her mother was barely alive, but her father had not been so lucky. Moeri took both of them to her grandparents living outside of the village.
A few days later, Moeri's mother had perished from her wounds and was buried alongside her husband. Moeri cried over their graves for two whole days. She repeated herself over and over, "give them back".
In one burst of grief and anger, she felt her skin growing warm. The ground around her blackened and charred as the young girl burst into brilliant flames. She screamed, terrified and confused, but soon realised that she felt no pain and saw no burns on her skin. Moeri watched in a combination or fear and awe as the flame flooded into the graves. The fire burned with every color in the spectrum, obliterating the earth and rock, revealing her parents. The flames removed their wounds, brought warmth back into their bodies and returned the souls to their proper place. Her parents stirred, as if from a deep sleep, to see their young daughter framed by brilliant wings of fire.
It has been 12 years since that day. Moeri's parents have long since retired from the ninja business, instead tending to the farm with the grandparents. Moeri has abandoned her ninja lifestyle and began to travel, now in full control of her powers. She rarely shows them, but when she does, many people claim to see a bird of fire in the night sky.

Abilities - Moeri, being the phoenix incarnate, is a naturally exceptional pyrokinetic. While never learning specific fire jutsu, her powers allow her to manifest fire at will and she can control it with ease.
The fire is however, not your typical flame. The fire is one of purification. The fire specifically burns that which is evil, dark and corrupted. The fire often engulfs an enemy, burning away their malicious spirit and desires and leaving a purified and tranquil person behind.
It can also be used to restore. The fire will close wounds and cure minor diseases, and with enough effort, can restore a person from death.
However, Moeri has learned that she is unable to resurrect anyone. The flame only revives people that she knows. She is unable to call back a spirit of someone that she is not familiar with, so while the body may be restored back to life, it will die again shortly thereafter without it's original soul.
The fire also has the ability to gain a fairly solid form. The flames that form Moeri's phoenix wings have to maintain feather-like rigidity and strength to support her in flight. The wings are able to maintain flight quite easily and Moeri can move and control them just like another set of limbs. The only downside is the obvious fact that they draw absurd amounts of attention, so Moeri keeps them subdued while she uses her powers, often not extending more than a foot while being controlled.
Moeri's sword, which is based on the european flamberge, is able to withstand her fire. In fact, the sword itself is her only means of using fire for offensive reasons. When the fire engulfs the blade, Moeri uses it with murderous intent, removing whatever purifying effects the fire has while being on the sword. As long as the fire is channeled through the sword with intent to kill, the flames will incinerate everything they touch.
Unfortunately, Moeri's leave of absence from the ninja lifestyle has left her combative abilities rather low. Her chakra and jutsu control has become mediocre at best, but her taijutsu and physical conditioning are still top notch. She very rarely has to fight anyone, being the peaceful person that she is. She wanders from town to town, working in local clinics where she can (discreetly) use her powers to aid those in need.

Name: Genetic Assimilation Technique (Jenetikku Douka no Jutsu)

Type: None

Effect(s): User ‘assimilates’ or absorbs a small portion of a victims genetic code, via touch, by genetic splicing. Assimilates elements as well as Keke’Genkai.

Drawback(s): This technique can be used only once per week. Assimilated techniques will cause extreme exhaustion and minor damage to the user’s body after each use. Assimilated techniques will not have the same clarity or power of the original and therefore must be trained from the level of a beginner (Ex: If I were to assimilate Hinata’s Byakugan I wouldn’t be able to see with her clarity and I would still have the blind spot to deal with).

History: Developed after discovering several documents, instructional scrolls and notes deep within Orochimaru’s Abandoned Laboratory hidden somewhere within the village of Konoha.

Type: None

Effect(s): Uses a small portion of the user’s cells to create a clone. Clones and the original user share one mind thusly allowing positive knowledge and experiences to be shared immediately (as opposed to a Shadow Clone needing to disappear first). All negative experiences (such as injuries) will be taken by only the targeted clone or user and NOT shared with the others. Genetic Clones will not disappear until absorbed by the original user, even after being killed.

Drawback(s): Chakra remains pooled for all to use (as opposed to splitting chakra each time a clone is created) causing chakra to be expended quickly.

History: Developed after discovering several documents, instructional scrolls and notes deep within Orochimaru’s Abandoned Laboratory hidden somewhere within the village of Konoha.

Type: Keke'Genkai

Element: None

Effect(s): The user triggers electrical pulses in the brain of a single enemy causing the victims body to move against their will. This technique is most often used to crush individual body parts (arms, legs, fingers, toes, etc) for torture, interogation and even death.

Drawback(s): This jutsu requires the upmost concentration and eye contact with the enemy and cannot be performed without it. The more this jutsu is used in a single battle the more exhausted and disoriented the user will become.

History: Keke'Genkai of the legendary Ulrich Clan...

Character Profile: Both her parents (Yuuta Oshiro and Midori Oshiro) died while fighting the fox demon about 5 months after she was born. She has been raised by her Aunt Sachiko. Sachiko enrolled Haruka into the Ninja Academy when she was only 4yrs old and about 2 years later Sachiko died on a mission. She had never told Haruka that it was the demon fox that had killed her parents. After hearing the news the Third Hokage had set up an apartment for Haruka to live in. Now as you can imagine it's extremely difficult both physically and emotionally to be living on your own at the age of 6. But she wasnt too bad off. Sachiko had never babied her. at the age of 4 Haruka had learned how to cook and clean for herself. By the time Sachiko had passed away she had aquired all the skills that she needed to live on her own. And Haruka was very shy ( even with Sachiko) so she was used to solitude. Haruka only had 1 good friend at the NA. Her name is Naomi Kobayashi. Haruka and Naomi were (and still are ;3) so close that many thought them to be sisters although they looked nothing alike. One day when Haruka was 9yrs old she met a strange boy named Naruto Uzumaki. What struck her as odd was that he was all alone on the swing without a single person even glancing in his direction. Then she saw 2 girls from her class glaring at him, and whispering to eachother. When she asked Iruka-sensei about Naruto and why the girls were so hostile towards him Iruka-sensei told her about the fox demon. The next day Haruka watched Naruto again. She noticed that he seemed sad. She had wanted to talk to him but she was to shy. When squads were assigned she wished with all her heart that Naruto, Naomi, and herself would all be in the same squad but was heartbroken when Naruto was assigned to squad 7 along with Saukura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. She had realized at that moment that she was deeply in love with Naruto. She loved (and still loves ;3) everything about him from his deep blue eyes that had hid a darkness for so long, to the fact that no ninja should ever be wearing fluorescent orange but that he can make it work so easily. And she knew at that moment that her love would never falter.
