I don't expect Aerith at all. She'll probably be a lot more like Rip in the Hellsing OVA. Confident, girly, arrogant, and eventually going out in a blast of violent glory in an action battle.

I'm expecting a Lark(Top!2) voice, and when she goes insane in the Entry Plug, she will sound like Chrona(Soul Eater).

Her as Rip Van Winkle was rather Narm-ish for me. It was good, but those groans made me go: Whoa, she... has talent.

As for "arrogance", she may have that in mind, but I certainly didn't hear it in Rip. If anything, her voice actually reinforced my perception that Rip was the proverbial sacrificial lamb.

Yeah... Lark had a wide spectre, from the arrogant, to the childish, from the elite to the underdog... well... Maaya-san is a talented seiyuu after all.

I tend to think of her as a singer first. Hence, I salute her efforts in taking on roles which would probably pay her a lot less than her next CD.

She can't forget her debut i think... the first time i hear her voice in Escaflowne i almost fainted, all her Escaflowne's songs are beautiful. I can't remember another singer/seiyuu debut like that.

See i think of her as a seiyuu first (being my personally favorite may have something to do with it). I mean it's not like she's done a few roles here and there, she's done a lot over the years. Quite a few small roles as well.

Her looks remind me of combination of old EVA games female characters, Mana Kirishima and another name I can't remember. Her EVA reminds me of mecha on Segway for some reason.

I've seen people point out how she looks a lot like Hikari and how they should have just given her an Eva instead. An interesting view I guess.

I said that before, she shares similarities with Hikari (twintails), the name with Asuka (western plus japanase name), glasses with Gendou, hair color with Misato (Purple)...

I think that Gainax doesn't want to put Hikari in a EVA.

I don't know. If Anno has mellowed so much throughout the years as people have been implying, and Gainax just wants her there to sell more figurines, she might just be a crappy character.

I don't get the link between mellow and creating crappy characters, also Top wo Nerae! 2 had wonderful characters.

Asuka herself is confident and proud, but its to hide her darker side. If anything, the 'standard' EVA pilot is someone who has a darker side, has some dark dark secret and has lots of emotional problems.

I don't think they will save him because Touji incident is a big plot in eva that turnaround Shinji's feeling after he finally get some warmth. It is sad to lose Touji but without this incident Shinji won't become Shinji that we know

I think of it as her choosing to slog through. Seriously, given her stuff, she can easily move to pro singing.

Shinji being more action-packed is a natural result of the movies. You don't have a lot of time to develop a character. Best way is to give him more action.

How Eva turned out had a lot to do with Anno being depressed. It's not difficult to imagine that a character added in a remake done 15 years later may turn out pretty different from the original ones.
