who are these people, the ones who stay up all night reading and posting?
what comfort do they find?
is it that they can be enyone they please while logged on?
do they escape the threads of there dull life or are they trying to find something?

Maybe cause their bored and this is something they like to do...i personally like it here...although there isn't much to post to anymore..or at least not things i'm interested in i would spend some of my time just reading and posting...especially at night if i have nothing else to do...

and most people are reading and posting right from their job, so it just seems like they spend their free time but in reality they're just using up the time at their work...while others are students in comp labs, some are kids that aren't allowed to go out during the night, there are many reasons people are here, so there's no need to make it sound like they have no life

For me I'm almost always at my computer anyways, wether I'm doing homework or watching anime, tv, reading, ect, since my computer desk is kind of the center of my room, so whenever I need to take a couple minutes break I'll check if there are any interesting threads or if I make a post I might check to see if there is a response. It's a good way of killing time. Plus there are a few people on this forum that make me laugh a lot. Although it sucks that one of them (p3psi) seems to have found something better to do.

Look under "animesuki community" thread in the general chat, your question is pretty much answered there by a bunch of people.

I like to post in forums because I love to write. I love to be thoughtful, and I also like to improve my language skills

I hate chatting on msn or irc or any kind of braindless chatting. I even hate to chit-chat in real life. I only open my mouth to express an opinion or to analyze something, which is bad because it is very difficult to find people like me and I feel alone most of the time, but no lonely...

i agree but there dosnt seem to be much deep thought here. i was hoping to find a place to have a interesting debate on something that might teach me show me who other people are. i didnt have a good childhood and it has left a bad impression about people. i want to understand them.

It depends on your definition of 'deep thought'. This is an anime forum, with a General Chat section for other topics.

The recent thread about gay marriages, I thought, went fairly into depth about the Bible, personal feelings, whether homosexuality is genetic or learned, and towards the end began to involve theories about the creation of the universe.

Let me put it this way: what do you want to see in these threads?

I remeber my first online experience in a public chat room. I went there for theraputic reasons. I was lonely and reaching out for understanding, and wanting "serious talk". The rest of the room was flirting, LOLing, joking, and having a great time. I was certainly out of place.

Then I found a room for philosophy discussions. The room was filled with people who sounded like men and women with doctorates in the field. They quoted various philosophers and then went on to completely dissect their works. I was way out of my league.

After a while of not finding what I was looking for, I gave up on chat rooms and started spending more time with people IRL. I don't know if anyone's childhood was great. I know that some can be pretty traumatic. I don't know if you're going to find what you're looking for online though.

More power to you.

When i said happyness, i really ment " obsession". U can go through life by yourself, not really understanding things, and taking the lonly yet easy part, or go through life with other people, and Share your exsperiances. Personally, other people with me, makes me happy, and i descover more things about "My self", when i am with them, and when that happens, i feel more better about my self.

I personally believe that nobody should go through life alone, because that will only make them un-happy. So it is my job, to share the wounderful exsperiance that i have descovered with other ppl, and share it MORE with other ppl who havent desoceverd it. Sharing is a bigger thing, and better if u use it properly

*This word seems somewhat out of "Plaice" (Excuse the pun )

To help you with your linguistic studies:

"Soul" = the Spirit, "Sole" = a type of fish, or the base of a shoe.
"Place" = a location, "Plaice" = a type of fish.

Boney was obviously thrown off kilter by your apparent references to sea going creatures .

Erm you appear to be either bragging or being deceitful here, in either case I'm not sure what type of reaction you are hoping to get from fielding these statements.......
