I believe it was already stated that the "Evas" where the weapons they use in battle...

Remember this isn't a exact copy of the first series and Shinji isn't really being emo in my eyes ( He's not curled up in a ball crying in the corner...yet) just a little doubtful that he's made the wrong chose. I'm sure as after his talk with Kaworu he'll be good as new (The something will come along and crush his sprite again) will that what I think anyway.

Anyway Quick Summary!

Spoiler for Chapter 8:

-We start things of with Shinji getting a soda form the vending machine down the near his house. When he comes back he finds Kaworu setting on the floor sulking because even though he came to stay the night at Shinj's he forgot to bright food and stuff. Shinji trys to comfort him with a pat on the head.

-We are then treated to a mini-flash back of little Kaworu being comforted in the same way. After a moment of awkward silence Shinji changes a subject to his mother, father, and how his dads always working away form home. Kaworu then asks Shinji if he's lonely...

-Shinji gets a little miffed about that statement and says sorry if he's acting like a brat. Kaworu tries to explain that he didn't mean to sound like he's teasing him but just wanted to know what his family was like because he never had any of his own...

-Shinji then comments that they are both pretty much in the same boat then but Kaworu corrects him and says not exactly and that unlike Shinji he's never been able to associate with anyone being kept "inside" side all the time.

-When Shinji asks what he means by that Kaworu explains to him that Asuka, Rei, and Himself where not allowed to attend regular school having been (with the exception of Asuka who parents are human) artificially created children made to fight Angels.

-Shinji is shocked by this but Kaworu explains that like Asuka he seems to be an exception as well born with the power to fight angels. Kaworu in order then says that he understands that Shinji is scared by all of this strange things however this dosen't stop Shinji from freaking out.

-After Shinji vents a bit Kaworu tells Shinji that he would like to help him get out of all this but the problem his he's in too deep now and the Angels know that Shinji is working with them so they would just hunt him down later if he left their group now. Shinji then asks Kaworu if he's scared to which Kaworu replys no and this is the life he chose for himself.

-Before Shinji can ask what he means by that Kaworu phone rings and it's Asuka who is super pissed at him for skipping out on their meeting and left her and Rei hanging. Kaworu then tells her that he just went to Shinji's for a bit and Asuka asks why if he was the one who told them to give him some space.

-Kaworu ponders why he actually came over there in the first place then remember something Rei had said to him. Having thought about this Kaworu comes to some sort of realization *cough*YAOI MOMENT*cough* and tells Shinji that he would be happy to have him fight by his side...

-In the last few pages we see the home of the De Nuovo twins and from what we are shown it appears that a shadowy figure (Makoto?) is entering the room of young Cecilia and starts sniffing her hair...

Chapter 9 is out more info, backstory form a surprising source, and shinji finally gains the will to fight again...Also I'm sad to say we may not get a chapter next week according to Turtle Paradise we have to wait until the August issue of Asuka magazine.

Yeah, the wait is going to suck. Was a good chapter, some background information was explained about Kaji. I love background information like that and I'm dying to know what happened.

This series is... different. Definitely.

Besides personality changes, the change in genre is somewhat welcome. One of my favourite manga is Getbackers, and this series gives me that feel. Kids as a fighting team. Also, minimal fanservice gets my approval. Shout-outs to other Eva AUs are a nice touch, although I'm convinced that I missed a few. The grey nature of the original is also kept in this series, and I hope that it gets development.

Can't wait for next chapter to be translated.

The eyes looked fiery, I thought it might have been Asuka.

I can't beleive I'm just finding this now.... Any NGE that has Horaki Hikari is instant win for me.

Hikari has ALWAYS been in the alternate NGE storylines. Can't think of one where she's totally absent.

Which is why I love Angelic Days so much.

I felt she got royally shafted in the original anime and manga.

Spoiler for Chapter 7: -We start off with one of the twins (Makoto) looking at the computer Shinji had been sitting at and commenting on how he's found his target...Shinji returns to the room to retrieve his pencil bag and he finally meets Makoto face to face. They exchange a couple words then Makoto tells Shinji to stay away form his sister. -Then right on time Makoto's sister Cess shows asking Makoto where he's been but turns and runs away blushing when she sees Shinji...I wonder why?... -Next we have Kaworu and Rei in lunch together. Kaworu tries to get Asuka to join them but she refuses saying that she dosen't want to be grouped up with weridos and that if they really need to talk just text her instead...Oh Askua same as ever. -Now we have Kaworu and Rei talking about Shinji and how he still has a long way to go before he can actually be told everything their "secret war" with the angels but more impotently that unless he completely over come his fear he'll be useless in combat. -At the end of the conversation Shinji walks in the lunch room and sees Kaworu and Rei together and obviously gets the wrong idea he was just checking out her scars...well I would get the wrong idea too if I saw then that close. -Back at home shinji once again starts to wonder why he even said he would fight when suddenly he gets a knock on the door and I'll give you one guess who it is...that right good old Kaworu just shows up on Shinji's doorstep in the middle of the night...(Awaits the screams form the Yaoi fangirls) and with that we end our chapter. __________________

Spoiler for Chapter 10: Okay we start off with a mini flash back of 3 mouths ago where we see our favorite gamer Aida Kensuke being approached by a mysterious man claiming to be a game developer working for a company. At First Aida is a little iffy about the guy until he drops a disk in his hand and tells him he would like him gather "test data" Fast forward in time and what do we see all the students who've been playing this new game "Apocalypse of Night" have been randomly falling into a deep sleep or coma. (coughdot//hackcough) Shinji asks Kaworu if it may be a angel at work but Kaworu says theres not enough evidence to support this theory...yet... We also get a chance to see Class Rep Akari being quested by Asuka about her feeling towards Touji (cute...) then right on cue Touji runs into the room thinking he's late but is surprised to see most of the room empty. Soon after Masoto enters the class and tells everyone to go home due to the lack of well a class... On their way out Masoto asks Akari and Touji could they go check up on Aida since no one has been able to contact him or home for the last few days. Akari voices her concern about all the students sudden absents but thanks to some encouraging words by Touji she is once again at ease. Asuka then tells Touji that if anything should happen to him and Akari he's responsible for her safety and of course he quickly agrees. (Hell I don't blame him.) Well once the two of them are out of sight Masoto then turns to the rest and asks are they ready to go. When Shinji asks where Masoto smiles and reply NEVR HQ. (Saw that one coming a mile away) Next we see the inside of GNX Co. building where a young girl claiming to wanna find her "Big Brother" wonders into the lobby and walks up to one of the members of the development team. Of course they are both Angels...Well now 3 new Angels have been reveled and their mission seems to be an invasion of the human world ... __________________
