It's the one that comes AFTER Battle Tendency, Starlight Crusaders which is the most well-known arc for many.

I am not sure if Sugita is going to reprise his role as old Joseph in the 3rd arc (Stand arc - Stardust Crusaders), but i can assure you he won't let you down as young Joseph in 2nd arc (Battle Tendency)

Damn just finish running the eps that i missed... what can i say. Shits were so awesome, and the GARness, and bromance that surpasses even Strawberry Panic. This is how real man show should be, capturing the essences of GAR!!! that had long lost ever since moe genre came into the anime industry.

Speaking of GAR.. i think it would be nice if by any chance, Yoshiki Fukuyama contribute a song or two to the show. A show like this definitely needs a GAR song to match with the show mood.

So did Jonathan pass down his genes or not? or do they only have one adopted child?

I'm kind of glad that it cuts away to 50 years later in the next episode, I can't imagine how devastated Speedwagon will be when he hear of the news

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure episode 9 and thoughts on Phantom Blood.

Spoiler:

Comment of Phantom Blood

It is important to note that the point that the story tried to convey was that Jonathan was a hard-working man who tried to live up to the expectations society placed on the ideal of the gentleman: proud, courageous, chivalrous and ultimately virtuous. It took Dio's attempts to break him, physically, mentally and socially, to forge the man that Jonathan will become. Like his father, Jonathan Joestar definitely was too good, his gentleman-ness is his great quality, that earned him the loyalty of Speedwagon, and also a flaw, that Dio tried to exploit. This is why it would be nice to spread the word about that kind of hero that is becoming way too rare.

David Production did a great job at making Phantom Blood arc enjoyable, which is quite something when this part is generally considered as one of the weakest by the fandom. Indeed, who would enjoy sitting through the first chapters that feels like reading Candy Candy? The director used good pacing, right music placement and directing tricks that helped to deal with the limited animation. He cut few scenes that may have hindered the pace and I have to praise the work of the seiyuus that was full of passion. Okitsu, Koyasu, Kawasumi and Ueda had fun with acting as Jojo characters and IT SHOWS. Maybe that's why I had been able to forgive how low budget it felt at times, I felt a love for the original work that is rare in the industry.

So yeah, JoJo's animated Phantom Blood is good, let's all spread the love for a kind of GAR that is becoming so rare today or that many don't have an idea of.

RIP Jonathan ;_;

Even Dio, who despised him his whole life, acknowledged his bravery in the end. In other circumstances, they might have become great friends. If only Dio wasn't so twisted...

Erina was already pregnant. She states it at the end. So yes, the Joestar bloodline will carry on.

I agree with your comment on Phantom Blood. The anime adaptation has exceeded my expectations and has in fact greatly enhanced the manga. I had more fun watching the anime than I had reading the manga version all those years ago (Phantom Blood is my least favorite part). The excellent direction, voice acting, and music made it so much more enjoyable and it was easy to overlook the poor animation.

Battle Tendency is one of my favorite so I have higher expectations this time around. I hope David Production will keep up the good work. The music in the preview already sounds pretty good.

Well, at least that horrible mask is gone.
Although if I was him I probably would have kept it.
So life continued normally for Jojo after all that.
It's nice Jojo and Erina got married, about time too.
Getting rid of Dio is a different story though.
Jojo's happiness was very short...
Interesting episode! Can't wait to see next one!

I pretty much agree with everything that Sheba and Kanon said. I undusted my manga of JoJo and reread phantom blood again after almost 10 years. There was a lot of things that I had almost completely forgotten. I really was surprised to see how this adaption was able to be so faithful to the original plot while improving so many bits here and there.

I never really liked that much the first arc, but thanks to David production I appreciate it a lot more now. It is really as if it was remade by Araki himself now, after he fully refined his unique style.

Now I really can't wait for Battle tendency... if they keep it up, it's going to be really epic. Even though I doubt they can fix the most disappointing bit of it, but well, the rest is still awesome.

What's that disappointing bit? If you want to tell me.

But yeah, Battle Tendency are where JoJo became truly interesting, and its gonna so much fun to hear Sugita as Joseph.

DAT promise Speedwagon made before Jojo and Erina departure, darn to bad we will only get as far as Battle Tendency so we won't see much of it

and now we should redefine nice boat as a "bro" and "full of manly tears" ending

Oh man RIP Jojo, the truest of gentlemen. Like how he saved Erina and that child until the end. Did i hear Speedwagon in the preview, that would be beyond great.
