"The real question is how heavy it is. Because it needs to be heavier."

Although I wouldn't mind a reproduction for the English release. XD

I was under the impression that it was a prize or something, is she going to be available at retail?

I honestly have no idea. I doubt it'll be available at retail, though. It seems they're going to be sold at some event (not sure). But.. 9k yen.. ouch.

i have no idea how much a real decent sword costs, so much would a SAO sword cost if it was from their company (already guessing it would be 2-3x)

It really depends on the quality of the sword. There are plenty of replica swords of all types you can get for well under $100... but they're pretty much only good for sitting in a case or stand somewhere.

Any decent real sword is gonna set you back a few hundred dollars at the very least.

Anyone want to preorder Sword Art Online? You get to play it 10 years from now LOL!

http://sgcafe.com/2012/07/sword-art-...reorders-open/

Quote:
Animate has been holding a Sword Art Online fair at their outlets, and every purchase of any Sword Art Online novel or manga entitles you to redeem a special three page booklet, the Argus’s Sword Art Online 2022 Promotion Pamphlet.

The game itself will cost 39800 yen, while the game with the Nerve Gear hardware will set you back 129800 yen.

While ten years before may too early as a preorder period, considering Sword Art Online’s revolutionary system and technology, it may be wise to preorder your copy early. It is limited to a run of 10000 copies.
"This is a joke pamphlet in collaboration with the Sword Art Online series, and a lot of attention to detail has been put in to make it look convincing! Even as just a promotional flyer, it has collector’s value."

If Duke Nukem has taught us anything, it's that people will preorder it, and they will be waiting for it.

Limited editions of Tales of Xillia retailed at upwards of $500-$600. And remember, the PS3 was $600 at launch, and it wasn't even a fully immersive virtual world. This isn't that bad, in all honesty.

take into consideration 10 yrs worth of inflation. While still pricy, it is not as bad as it looks.
