The show won't miss you. But you might miss the show, as I already do Watching Shiki was a lot of fun, even with numerous things left unexplained and a number of plot holes not filled. Shows like this are what make anime worth watching.

I guess all seven movies were pretty good but the dialogue and the story was confusing. The reason being was that I didn't know if some of the dialogue was metaphorical or being literal. And there seems to have been quite lot of symbolism, but didn't really think too much watching it and don't really like to do that much. Also the fact that I am not familiar with Type-Moon works seem to made it confusing, especially with the character's background.
I am curious if other watched the show through as if the dialogues were pure metaphorical dialogue or pure literal or mixed?

To be honest, I had quite a fair grasp on the story after watching all seven movies. There are times when it was a bit confusing ie the repetitive scene from multiple perspectives in the 5th. But most of the time, things are fairly clear for me.
The dialogues, I believe, are a mixture of literals and metaphoricals. And as for how you interpret them... well, I usually just think metaphorically if the literal doesn't make any sense lol

On the side note I thought the fifth movie was the one that was easiest to make sense of .

You have to decide yourself whether you interpret a given line as literal or metaphorical. It's not really rocket science though. Some of the more metaphorical stuff in this series is pretty contrived (someone already mentioned the whole "murder vs slaughter" thing), so if something seems nonsensical it's probably not meant literally
Interesting that you found the fifth the easiest to understand, as it's certainly the most non-linear of the seven movies and generally tries to mess with the audience, just like the spiral lift and staircase in the movie itself. |
