when looking at the time its airing it pretty muh gives away that it aren't intented to be a 'deep' show ... just rather nonsense humor which i think the managed okay ... but ... they just have to have been on something while doing it ... i want to try whatever it is

Well, I'll go out and say I enjoyed it and watched the American version on Cartoon Network for a while. There were only a couple things I found annoying- Long transformation sequences and Bubbles. The Bubbles character annoys me a lot for some reason, definately don't like her hair with those curls. I'm liking Blossom's character though.

... its the kind of dumb brainless humor thats funny before you really getting awaken ... and IMO its still funny afterwards ... its parodying the original PPG in such extreme that i wouldn't be surpriced if they at some point made a minor gag with that they was sitting and wacthing the original ...

... the OP and EP is also quite good (expect the english in the EP that is)

I saw it subbed finally, thanks to FM and Doremi. Anyway, well.. It still sucks. I expected this version with the same action as the original, or with a bit more since it's free from all that censorship in the states. But I guess they did it this dumb so it could fit well with the current Cartoon Network US standards. Sadly thats part of business.

The action sucks, The original pilot: "Meet Fuzzy Lumkins" had more action than this, combined with a few lessons. Remember the episode where Blossom steals the Golf clubs for the proffesor?

Anyway.. All those parodies. Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, and Tokyo Pig combined into an even more cheesier Cardcaptor sakura version.

I will keep watching to see how they adapt the other villans, i'm curious to see "Him" and "The Rowdy buff boys"

Is it just me, or is the original PPG more ADULT than this version?
Nailed it. Hell, the animation even LOOKS like pretty cure. Seriously Toei, learn creativity. This fails.

Just saw the first episode... Man it's just bad seriously the animation was just bad overal other then the transformations. The script/writers suck big time that's the best that they could come up with?

The action scenes are my god horrible did they even try at all to animate them? Magical Lyrical Nanoha is God compare to this crap.

The animation in Pretty Cure looks better then this. The animation is just BAD seriously the budget for this is very low. Toei didn't even try at all.

So, this is a PPGZ FLAME thread, it seems.
I'm seeing the same posters making same gripes and whine over and over.

So, can anyone point me to a regular PPGZ thread? :P

It's not a flame thread were just expressing are opinions on the quality of the show.. which ain't much.

Did CartoonNetwork financially support this? Because it doesn't look like not much money was put into this.

What's with the Z in Dragonball?

Chemical X evolved into a more powerful substance which Utonium called Chemical Z. Z was responsible for giving power to the Powerpuffs and creating the villains like Mojo.

Cartoon Network is probably bankrolling some of it. The animation is better than some Toei shows. (Yes, Toei gets worse than this.)

:shrugs shoulders: Hey, we're just commenting on the quality of the show...

...though it appears that "Quality is not Job 1"

What I can't believe is that why would they spend time and money making an anime from the originally cartoon series?

PPG in my perspective better off as a cartoon then anime.

Original > Japanified.

The first episode just sucked on so many levels. Lame flying-over-the-city animation, mayor is watered down (up?), fight sucked, Mojo Jojo with the annoying -mojo thing going on, the Professor has a son, a random iceburg, animators-were-high transformatin sequences, and altogether a very bad pilot episode.

The only thing that had this going were the OP and ED, which was pretty guitar-powered and rockable.

The answer is, the show has always been more popular in Japan than it has been here. This is probably Japan's answer for more episodes of PowerPuff Girls. While there is a chance this may air here (considering Cartoonetwork is involved to some extent), there's a higher chance of this not airing here due to how low the popularity is considered in the states. Especially after a year for Cartoonetwork no acknowledging this... You have to wonder what's up.
