I'm really enjoying Dusk Maiden of Amnesia though. |

another tibit of information regarding SHAFT, the director who did Sankarea last season also came out from that studio
now back on topic, I really really hope Shin tones down his trippy colours found in his previous works and get a better series composition person. I would hate for this series to be the most disappointing one in that season.

Harsh, but I tend to agree, particularly on the series composition, Otome despite being enjoyable had hardly followed the source material, and had some issues with its pace and storytelling. For the trippy colours, I personally enjoy those scenes, but occasionally he tends to overdo it, especially in his older works. |

I wonder if they'll tone down the loliciousness in this. Aside from the first chapter, the first series wasn't too bad about it, but 2wei has a fair bit more.
Still, I've enjoyed the mangas, so I hope this will turn out well. Although it almost certainly won't from that perspective... knowing the source material ahead of time for adaptations tends to make flaws in the adptation more blatant, and less tolerable. |

Didn't require too much observation, their original costumes were very bland. It makes more sense to go with the updated, more popular costumes from the get-go. This also means they don't have to 4th-wall handwave the new costumes once Zwei comes around like they did in the manga.

Would I need to watch Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero to watch Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA? I saw and enjoy Gatekeepers 21 without seeing Gatekeepers, same deal with Nurse Witch Komugi and Soul Taker. I am interested in this as a magical girl fan but never really had much interest in the franchise as a whole.

I don't know if you'd even need Fate/Zero, and I can't recall much from the Fate/Stay Night anime that would enhance the viewing experience much. You'd really need a combination of Heaven's Feel and Carnival Phantasm (and maybe Iri's School specials from the Fate/Zero blu-rays), I feel, to truly experience the comedy and character interactions.

Indeed, Carnival Phantasm too, which requires all the tsukihime saga too be remotely enjoyable; but yeah, why fate/zero? I don't remember being at all relevant... still references aside, I think Prisma Illya would be fairly enjoyable without any Type-Moon knowledge as long as the viewer is likes ecchi humor, mahou shoujo parodies, or is a lolicon

Don't really need to see everything to enjoy it. Some of it is pure silliness to begin with. Iris lulz is universal without knowing who she is in any other series.
In some respects it might be better not knowing everything as to not cloud one's judgement on characters.
