What other language is used in Origa's Inner Universe?
I borrowed from my friend the DVD's of Ghost in the shell, the stand alone complex and i just like the opening, but i would like to know what is the other language than english in that music.
Sorry to have created an other unuseful thread. |

Actually I thought Aerias Gloris might be Latin? Since the English-translated lyrics on OP sequence of episode 1 and 3 prints "Aerias Gloris" instead of a translation like the Russian parts in the same sequence. And I agree--the song is awesome. And while we're on the subject of GitS:SAC music--I just can't get enough of "yakitori" by Kanno Youko--It's really something... Also, the DVD is well worth the money--buy it at 25-ish Dollars in stores or 18-20 Dollars online Last edited by Melazoma; 2004-08-01 at 11:34. |

A little late into the topic, but I was wondering the same thing myself. So I looked in the booklet with the soundtrack cd and saw that the lyrics were written in cyrillic, so I asumed it was Russian, and since "Aeria Gloris" sounded Latin it probably was.
If you are going to buy the GTS SAC, the special edition isn't a bad way to go as it includes the soundtrack cd. Of course I see that it is about $25 over the regular edition, so it's really not that much difference than the buying them seperate. But I had preordered mine, so I got the special edition for the same price as the standard. |

I know it's an old thread...I was searching what the lyrics meant and stumbled across this thread...since I don't see this topic elsewhere on this forum thought I'd share what I found here.
click link for original content and side by side Romaji/English lyrics English Translation Angels and demons circle above my head cleaving through thorns and Milky Ways He who does not perceive his calling, does not know true happiness... Watch in awe! Watch in awe! Heavenly glory! Heavenly glory! Watch in awe! Watch in awe! Heavenly glory! Heavenly glory! I am Calling Calling out! Spirits, I am calling!!! To remain myself longer... Calling Calling, in the depths of longing! To remain myself longer! Watch in awe! Watch in awe! Heavenly glory! Heavenly glory! Watch in awe! Watch in awe! Heavenly glory! Heavenly glory! Stand alone... Where was life when it had a meaning... Stand alone... Nothing's real anymore and... ...Endless running... While I am alive, I can try not to fall while flying, nor to forget how to dream...to love... ...Endless running... Calling Calling out! For The Place of Knowing! There's more that what can be linked! Calling Calling, Never will I look away! From what life has left for me. Yearning Yearning, for what's left of loving! To remain myself longer... Calling Calling, in the depths of longing! To remain myself longer! Watch in awe! Watch in awe! Heavenly glory! Heavenly glory! Watch in awe! Watch in awe! Heavenly glory! Heavenly glory! This song not only has English and Russian in it, but she has also put in a small amount of Latin into it. I have to say that this song is fantastic. Origa has alot of talent and well I don't know if you have listened to anything else that she has written, but perhaps you would like some other songs of hers.
As for ghost in the shell it's a classic and im glad that she not only did the opening to stand alone complex but to 2nd gig as well. ^^ |
