Sometimes when I mouse over avatars, I get something other than "[user name]'s avatar". Is this something I can customize? If so, how would that be done?

I wasn't sure where to post this question. Feel free to merge with another thread if appropriate.

In your 'About Me' there's an 'Avatar/Signature'.

Put something there, that's what they'll see.

We have a thread dedicated to identifying anime and manga series. A surprising number of requests would come in as "what series is Username's avatar from?" I've often thought that the field for signature/avatar was designed somewhat in response to that, so that you can pre-identify the series for users who find your signature and/or avatar enticing and who want to know what series they're from. So just as a bit of a request, please use the field for those purposes. It's not meant to be an extension of the user title or signature.

It's a nice feature, and did help with the "what series is your avatar/signature from?" if you added that info.

One can also put text in between [SIGPIC] and [/SIGPIC], and this acts as alt-text, which can be handy if people hover over your signature.
