Any suggestions?

Alright, I know it's a rather lasy thing to ask for anime suggestions, but I really am out of ideas, I'm willing to try just about anything worth watching. I do love a series with action, but even so, some of my favorite series are pure shoujo romance. I love anything heart-wrenching especially (Kiminozo, Chrno Crusade, Elfen Lied kinda thing, ya know). I highly value plot in an anime, with few exceptions- that is, I don't typically like anything that's one-shot or as so many fillers that it begins to feel like everything is one-shot... Any suggestions of a good anime are greatly appreciated.

Below is a list of the animes I've finished so far, so as to not have animes I've already watched be suggested, I alphebetized it the best I could (that is, it wouldn't suprise me if there were some errors) so it's easy to check and see if any particular series is on my list... I plead guilty to being an anime junkie~

If your list was mine, these are what I might watch next:

Trigun
RahXephon
Kurau Phantom Memory
Futatsu no Spica
Gundam SEED
Kaleido Star
Gunparade March
R.O.D - the TV

That's ignoring some of the more episodic anime witch you expressed a dislike for.

Elemental Gelade / Erementar Gerad - Action and adventure with a bit of romance. Since female lead is kind of a weapon, she sometimes feels the male lead is treating her as a object. (heart-wrenching!) 26 episodes.

Eureka 7 - Action series with mecha (but not too much fighting), focuses on relationships as well. 50 Episodes.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora - hospital setting. Is about a female with a weak heart and a male who has a temporary disease and their story unfolding. Some say at the end they cried, I didn't but it's different for everyone. It's worth a look. 6 episodes only.

Kodocha / Kodomo no Omocha - definitely heart wrenching. You will see male lead and female lead being kids (10 or something) and their funny adventures. On ep 50, the good story IMO kicks in. You will see them grow up and changing.
A new girl and a new dude butts into their relationship. The leads will be apart for most of the series, making you more heartwrenched despite the comedy (also, lots of flashbacks to when they were young). 102 episodes.

Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu - not a lot of action, but it definitely fits the heart wrenching criteria.

I second Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora and Erementar Gerad.

Canvas 2 - love triangle in a school setting. Very good romance, with amazing support cast.

Lamune - do not watch this if you want action. But if you would like to see a heart-warming story about two childhood friends moving to becoming more than just friends - then definitely watch this.

Most definitely watch Utawarerumono - war drama with some bits of romance, with some rather shocking developments near the end.

Code Geass (ongoing) - action/mecha .... rebellion against the Britanian empire that has occupied Japan, led by a former Britanian prince, who wants to avenge his mother.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - rather deep and dark anime about the fate of world and stuff

If you liked Fate/Stay Night, there's a high chance you might like these too:

Shakugan no Shana
Zero no Tsukaima

The Third - Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo is rather good too.

I second Read or Die, both TV and OVA. Actually, OVA was chronologically first. Also if you liked Mai-HiME, try My Otome. It's about the same characters, but in an alternative reality. You may also try Ah! My Goddess!, which is romance/comedy with some action parts.

Saiunkoku Monogatari - oriental style, action/romance/political/comedy / bishies.
Kyoushirou to Towa no Sora - if you missed kanazuki no Miko....
Nodame Cantabile - currently ongoing, romance/comedy

Black Lagoon & Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage - great series, mafia type of show with a lot of action.

Mai-Otome - If you liked Mai-Hime then you should like this.

Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, & Full Metal Panic! TSR - mecha series with romance.

Code Geass - currently ongoing, another mecha series with a lot of action.
