We've seen hundreds of typical heroines like Riannon, geez we are in 2009 and they still can't come up with something new, the only thing good in this show is Arawn since he's not your usual main character.

Riannon is somewhat of typical heroin but shes not half as bad as some others we have seen in the past. I actually find her quite refreshing she does not really do anything that gets on your nervous. Even though sometimes her straightforward attitude can bug others in the series. Gaius was getting pretty annoyed with her happy go lucky no one gonna hold me down no ones gonna break my stride speech. Although she is not my favorite character i dont mind her. Besides seeing Arthur's face she ran right past him to Arwan was just priceless.

In the end there was really no point in holding her hostage for any longer than he did.

Well, I think this episode (12) was not as interesting as I thought it would be. Honestly speaking, Riannon isn't one of my favorite characters from the show. She's kinda boring (my sincere apologies to all Riannon fans out here! ).

But it was fun to see her walking past Arthur and go to Awran while Arthur was the one all worried about her. Hehehe... Arthur's expression was just too funny. Poor guy

I dunno. Those don't look like Imperial archers to me. I think they're from a third party. Remember when Taliesin first met the Gael hunting party? He told them the Gaels were hunting in lands owned by another group. I always assumed that Taliesin was from this other group. (Mostly because he's got to be from somewhere, and he's not with the Empire and not with the Gaels.) I think it's this other group who is opposing the Gaels in the preview. I'm too busy at the moment to verify the info, but I think the name Taliesin gave for this other group is the same as the upcoming episode title. I think that instead of Taliesin joining the bad guys, what we're seeing is a temporary misunderstanding between the Gaels and this other group who will eventually become allies in the fight against the empire. I think this because we know from the OP that Taliesin ultimately stands with the Gaels.

Bleh...Riannon's episode was quite boring and typical. As if anyone would dislike her since she is such a saint *points to self*. Boring-squeaky clean characters should be considered a sin

Saints could be interesting characters too if they have good backstories or depth in their personalities. Unfortunately I don't find either in Riannon. So far, I've only found her interesting in two instances: during her sunset conversation with her husband, and when she made a funny face before killing an enemy soldier.

However, I have a feeling that more meat will surround her bones in due time.

The series has been okay for me so far. It is not progressing as much as I'd hope. So far, the only progress in the series is that Arawn has built quite a harem. They have been in the same place since near the beginning of the series and have not made any progress with the empire.

Another thing is that this little girl in the intro and ending seems to be so prominent, yet, halfway through the series, we don't know who she is.

In this regard, I believe Guin Saga is better in its story telling, if you wanted to make a comparison. There is progress in Guin Saga, well, unless you consider harem building as progress for Tears...

I guess my expectations were a bit higher since I was such a huge fan of Utawarerumono. I hope this series will pick up speed soon.

I'm just guessing, based on seeing a lot of anime, but it's the typical sort of thing where you spend 75% of the series building the party, and the last 25% frantically resolving the plot.

(And then the fanboys spend the last few weeks complaining about how the ending feels rushed! )

But the fun part is the journey, so I don't mind it so much. I can sort of tell where it's going, and I don't care. I'll watch it anyway, because it's fun to watch. Arawn is one of the more interesting pim--err, heroes? out there these days.

Ain't nothin' wrong with that. The boy just needs to take some serious lessons from Arawn in playing it cool. Besides, she's got herself a magical husband who could probably find her in a crowded mall. Ain't no way Arthur could ever compete with that. I guess I'm not the only one that noticed that Brigantes was already mentioned previously and that Taliesin might be part of it.

They should be mentioning stuff about that girl soon.

Also, TtT hasn't been that great so far. But now that it's on Gaius' arc, the plot should start to really thicken. It'd be sad if it doesn't. =/

P.S. The fillers aren't that bad IMHO.

I agree about Riannon. It's just so tiring seeing the same kind of boring holier-than- thou heroine over and over in the vein of Akane (Hachiyoushou) and Angelique. It grates on my nerves.

But with that said, I don't know how else she's supposed to be besides saintly.

But at least she could have more of a personality, or at least weird quirks, or a sense of humor, geez, anything on top of the bowl of steamed rice would be good.

I just watch ep 13 but unfortunately i had problems watching it due to bad weather so i might miss some info.

Spoiler for ep 13:

Realizing their not strong enough to beat the empire, Arwan suggest the Gaels form an alliance with the Brigantes tribe, the tribe that Taliesin warns about before and who are also related to the Gaels since both their ancestors came from the Elven kingdom.

As they head to the Elven Forests, the home of the Brigantes, they are surrounded by Brigantes archers, who's leader is none other than Taliesin. Turns out his a Brigantes too but he won't let Arwan meet with the Chief of the Brigantes because he's dead and no one has took over because bad things happen to those who became Chief of the tribe.

I'm not sure what happen next that lead to Arthur & Taliesin to fight since i keep losing TV signals when i'm watching but i just recall that Arthur will fight on behalf of the Gaels against anyway who fights for the Brigantes, which Taliesin does. Arthur doesn't want to fight him at first since his left arm is injured but after some convincing by Arwan, he finally accepts.

As both of them battle, Ogam & Arwan realize something is wrong with Arthur; turns out his left arm joint is injured, which Taliesin manage to hit that part of his body and made Arthur loses his sword. Turns out Taliesin was never that injured at all since he had it healed, and purposely made it look like it was badly hurt to fool Arthur. Arthur prepares to die but Taliesin want him to beg for mercy but he refuse, not even when Taliesin goes angry and scratches Arthur's neck using his sword. But Arthur actually reveals that (i forgot this part but i think it has to do with Arthur knowing all along about Taliesin 'injurer' , wanting to fight him fairly and believing in Arwan to free everyone from the Empire.) which convince the Brigantes to accept the Gaels thanks to Arthur thinking.

So what does Arwan do to reward Arthur?

Have the girls RAPE him!!

I'm kidding. The girls just grab hold of Arthur while Morgan offers to "fix" his left arm. LOL What was very interesting about that scene was Octavia grabbing hold of Arthur's right leg & crotch and smiling. I can think of a lot of reason why she's smiling when she was doing that lol.

If you thought that was funny, how about "Taliesin the Bard" becoming "Taliesin the Lolicon" after trying to grope Epona! (poor Epona Being grope by a weirdo lolicon just because your an tiny elf. LOL)

Also they was a cameo appearance of that little girl in OP & ED when Arwan & Riannon talked about their hearts.

Sorry for this incomplete review. I'll try to improve when i watch a rerun next time.
