Some are guessing that it is a new type. Base on the color scheme though it looks like a normal type for me. By looks of it I am guessing it is a female, if Eevee has an evolution that diverges depending on its gender that would be nice.

I take that the new evolution is a fighting type because of the Nin in Ninfeon's name. Also, don't be surprised if this turned out to be a hidden shout out to the Senran Kagura creators courtesy of Satoshi and Ken-v-;;.
@Terrestial: Well, that would cover the gender portion of X and Y. Let the eevees cover the genders, while the legendaries cover the axes.

I could make a guess that it would be Flying type too, but it's a bit of a stretch. The "bows" on it's body kind of resemble wings and it's very long ears kind of give the impression of tail-feathers on a bird.
Other than that though it has to be Normal type. All the cutesy pinkish-colored Pokemon usually are.

Can't really compliment the design... I guess I'll guess Fighting or Normal.

I love it! This is definitely one of my new favorite Pokemon, it just hits all of the right notes for me. I kind of hope it's not a Normal Type though, since that'd be kind of redundant for Eevee...

I'm Sorry if I messed up my facts about this.
Lets say Ninifia is the normal Evolution from Eevee, but how does it Evolve into Ninifia? If I remember correctly, Doesn't Eevee evolve with enough Happiness into Umbreon / Espeon depending you let it evolve in day / night. Aw you beat me too it. I also wanted to post that

*sees Ninfia trollface picture*
*punches monitor Fist of the North Star style* The more I see that damn thing, the more I loathe it. -_- This is what I saved shiny Eevee for? Its counterpart had better be damn good, to make up for its suck. |

Yep, more than one actually. Downloaded one at one of the Pokemon regional tourneys (as a spectator) and chained on Platinum before I'd even thought about the possibility of new evolutions- good thing I was too lazy to evolve/transfer all of them.
So... the English name is Sylveon. Syl as in Sylph? Sylph -> Wind -> Flying? Apparently not, because... I saw a short video of it in action, but the attacks don't help at all in identifying it. Which is especially infuriating considering Eevee evolutions have crappy movepools that give away their type. The first attack looks fierce... probably Giga Impact. The second attack is card-based... so it's probably Trump Card (normal). The third attack... I thought it was Confuse Ray because of the stars, but now I think it's Swift (Speed Star). So, all normal attacks -> Normal type? From Serebii.net, its French name is Nymphali. I guess Sylph/Nymph is in the name for gender reasons. Providing gender-specific evolutions goes along with the X/Y theme. But still, waiting this long to introduce a Normal type... I'm dubbing this bastard "Trollvee". *edit* Technically, that would be "Trolleon". That picture hits too close to home. |
