^^ Leaving aside whether Sairin and Nidome are recent, yeah the concept is the same (well this one feels like a cheap copy of nidome though).
Unfortunately the way it is done in (especially the quality of writing) is completely different. While nidome feels OK and interesting, I can't help but see the MC of sairin as a child throwing tantrum. So can't really recomend this. |

A considerable number of completed revenge series start from 2008~, the only new "thing" is people translating and posting them here.
Very few of them are actually done well. Aimless revenge and retarded MCs being used by the targets of their revenge. Also the typical angry tantrum. The worst ones are the more recent ones where they go 100+ chapters of "suffering" without ever even getting revenge on anyone.

1. Due to events in the first chapter, he loses all the powers he had. Basically, he gets reset. So now he has to jumpstart himself to get back to his old broken self.
2. Not really? Aside from Maou only one other girl likes him and she's not even in the story after the arc is over, she'll probably appear again but otherwise it's pretty much him and Maou. 3. Nah Quote:

Then you have the other revenge targets. Spoiler:
Anyway, Both Nidome and This start off with the same premise, but Unlike Nidome this series seems to be going down the path of the MC becoming the hero again. He's still gonna get his revenge but it's just not gonna make him crazy for it. Spoiler:

Spoiler for Volume 1 cover:
Would you bet that she is a talking head? I remember checking this some time ago, the impression that gave me was : - This gives a completely different feel compared to the authors 2 other words (Blade Online which makes me fall asleep, and Kiraware kenshi which I actually find interesting due to it's bottomless despair) - Despise being revenge the supposedly central theme, when it comes to it; it's actually handled pretty dryly which I actually found that refreshing since the MC just goes ahead with it; there is no facepalming longwinding ridiculous schemes that need 10 chapters rubbed in our faces each arc per target. - The MC and the heroine are close to a contrast in character concept wise : she desires revenge, but doesn't let the idea of revenge taking a hold of her life nor messing with her life choices; which again I found refreshing since most revenge themed stories heroines are water strider level of shallowness and will eventually and undoubtely fotocopy the MC's mentality & personality for the sake of increasing his motivation for no good reason. - Despise finding several aspects about this refreshing, I was not totally sold on this till when I stopped. For example since the contrast on the MC and the heroine is what carry the show, when the issue is not there on screen things feel like a drag (for example the first arc, where they only start interacting near the end). - If the MC goes "literal" with his idea of revenge he should, in theory, wipe out all life on that planet since all sides of the war are responsible. The fact that he is not truly aiming at that shows the effect indirect of the heroine on him; so I felt that him pursuing revenge to the bitter end or not is actually one of the hidden core themes on this. Because apparently a good bunch of web novel authors are just filled with angst and social resentment because they are living in their families closet while watching everyone else living a somehow meaningful life.
