sweet, Sheryl got to 3. Yay for Lacus going up as well but for the life of me i STILL cannot understand Cagalli being more popular than Lacus. I definitely see the male list as more understandable in that aspect.

so basically it's more about single minded people than numbers lol. I'd definitely say Lacus has a much larger fanbase but i guess if some are divided then the rankings become affected as well.

I definitely like Sheryl in the top 3. Considering how much newer that show is compareed to some of the others shows just how much of an impact she had on fans. Maybe in a few years we will see her in first.

Well looking at the rest of the female characters, I think Sheryl is the newest character created (unless Bakemonogatari came out in 2009... no, right?) in that entire list. And she managed to score 3rd! Yes!

Oh but then again, the list is not complete, there's some blanks

Yes Bakemonogatari is a 2009 series, it's also going to be the best selling title on dvd/bluray, it's going to smash the two previous record best series in Gundam SEED Destiny and Gundam SEED.

Btw, the 80s and 90s list was interesting to read. I'm more familiar with the guys from the 90s and 00s (most of the 80s guys don't ring a bell for me), but I'm pretty satisfied with the results of the girls from all decades.

Yuusuke was the main character of Yuyu Hakusho but he was the lowest on the list, I find that so funny. And that both authors of Sailormoon and Yuyu Hakusho (real life partners) got their characters pretty high in the 90 lists.


And... I don't know, I prefer the girls list in the 90s than 00s. Apparently shoujo has taken a backseat in the 00s, because most of the girls are from male-oriented/shonen/mecha anime.

Yes, Cagalli never beat Lacus at all, not during the first half of SEED, not during last months best of the last 25 years poll etc etc, Athrun never beat Kira either.

i see a problem with this type of poll though. Giving only a single vote does not give an accurate result in my opinion. It more point out which characters have the most single minded fans. But that only points to the quality of a fan, not that the actual size of the fanbase which this should've been about.

I agree with Key Board that Cagalli fans must've had to have been rallied for this kind of result though. and was probably done really early in the poll. If Lacus fans had done exactly the same i doubt anyone could beat her.
