Wartime anime with romance

Hi,

Looking for wartime anime with romance, something like vandread, escaflowne, pumpkin scissors, claymore, full metal panic, fate/stay night, busou renkin, or utawarerumono.

Have you seen Gunparade March? it's a short 12 episode series that pretty much fits the bill of what you're looking for.

I actually just ordered the DVD's because I enjoyed the show

Man, SaiKano really fits, and it's one of the best anime I've ever watched too.

RahXephon is one of my favorites that fits this category. You might not like it if you're not into mecha, but judging from your given list of shows, that doesn't seem to be too much of a problem.

I definitely second Gunparade March.

As for suggestions ..

Starship Operators. Fair bit of war-time conditions and action with some romance sprinkled on top.

Crest of the Stars (and the sequels) - my all time favorite show which focuses on two people and their adventure in a war thorn galaxy.

Zegapain - can't really say much, because almost any plot details are spoilers. Everything is not what it seems to be at first.

I didn't see Sokyuu No Fafner listed in this thread, so I've got to toss it in. (admittedly, the description on ANN doesn't have much resemblance to the actual show)

Samurai Deeper Kyo or perhaps something less serious, Zero no Tsukaima.

I really want to watch Saikano but the art is really bothering me. I got past the art in Kemonozume so one of these days Saikano is going down - SaiKano will be watched!

I didnt really like Samurai Deeper Kyo and i'm shounen receptive. But my girl friend at that time loved it .
